Nova's Golden Grants is an initiative driven by our local markets where staff can apply to have their charity-based goals fully or partly funded by Nova Entertainment. Many of us are active members of local communities and charities and we think one of the best ways to benefit the community is to support the causes that are important to our people - no matter how big, how small or how local. In 2023 the amazing Hannah Bowman recommended Thread Together as a cause really important to her, and we were thrilled to be able to support such an important initiative. In her words: "A friend of mine asked if I would like to spend a few hours volunteering with her one Saturday, and I agreed not knowing what it was or where we were going. As soon as I stepped foot in the warehouses at Thread Together I could feel the passion in the room for helping others, and reducing waste. From there I learnt about the amazing work they do to save brand new clothes from going to landfill, and instead sending them to people in need. From natural disasters, to people fleeing domestic violence or living on the streets, these clothes can be absolutely life changing. Many of the people receiving these clothes have never had a brand new piece of clothing before, and being able to choice something that aligns with their needs is a huge help in their lives. The volunteering process itself is super easy and the tasks are explained really clearly so it’s easy to hit the ground running as soon as you arrive!" If you want to help, you can contact Thread Together at https://lnkd.in/gNEHpnj7 If you want to join a business that cares about what matters to you, we are currently recruiting for a variety of opportunities across the country. #novajobs #lovewhereyouwork #marketleader #GoldenGrants

The final act in our #NOVANEXT keynotes was a masterclass from Australia's pre-eminent authority on the art & impact of human performance, the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Our NIDA tutors took the team through the physical, vocal and strategic aspects of delivering a show-stopping performance. Whether you're in a boardroom or on Broadway, it all comes down to your ability to create an authentic connection with your audience. We loved it so much, we'll be rolling out our NOVA x NIDA Performance Series to clients & partners in future. A huge thank you / bravo to the team at NIDA Corporate Training for joining Nova Next.

They say feedback is a gift, but most of us would admit it's one we're more comfortable giving than receiving. To foster a high performance culture though, the willingness (and ability) of all team members to be productively uncomfortable is a critical requirement. That's why we had WeGrow's founder Wendy Gower join us at #NOVANEXT for a masterclass in the art of giving AND receiving feedback. In case we didn't like the 'gifts' we received, she followed up with a personal branding workshop so we had the tools to change it. A massive thanks to Wendy for helping make Nova Next such a success.

Last week we welcomed the inimitable Paul Taylor to #NOVANEXT for a masterclass in the art of Stress Fitness - the antidote to burnout. Paul is a neuroscientist, exercise physiologist, 'Prac-ademic', podcaster, and acclaimed author. He is also a straight-talker. In his 90 minute masterclass, he took the team through his Stress Fitness or 'Resilience 2.0' framework, which focuses on gaining conscious control of our response to stress, so we can flexibly adapt to challenges and perform at our peak. He even converted a brave few of us to cold showers, which was a big ask in the middle of Melbourne Winter. A massive thank you to Paul for an energising and unforgettable session.

Throwback to this time last week, when 140 members of our national commercial team poured into The Palladium for #NOVANEXT - two days of interactive workshops, keynotes, and choirs (stay with us) dedicated to the art & impact of human performance. High performance is a team sport, so we tapped some industry heavyweights like Wendy Gower on the art of giving feedback & value of productive discomfort. We combined the twin powers of the Navy & Neuroscience for a lesson in stress fitness from Paul Taylor. And we received a masterclass in physical performance from the biggest name in performing arts, the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). NB: We also delivered one of the most average renditions of Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' led by Sing Squad, but we've spared you the audio. It was two days of unique and inspiring perspectives on performance that have supercharged our commercial team, steeling our resolve to be the audio performance partner for our clients in H2 and beyond.* *And to keep our day jobs because few among us can hold a tune. A massive thank you to Nicole Bence, Kate Murphy and Peter Charlton for the investment in our greatest point of difference - our people. And hats off to Chelsea Srinivasan and Courtney Semmler who made sure it was a seamless event experience.

On July 24 2014, I had my first day behind the Nova 919 reception desk in Adelaide. As of today, I have worked for NOVA Entertainment for ten years. 2024 has been year of milestones, I turned thirty, we had our 300th Nova’s Red Room event and it has been ten years of working on the Nova brand from Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. I’ve had the pleasure of learning from formidable leaders, had the chance to experience events and career opportunities nineteen year old me could have only dreamed of and continue to be challenged daily. Without challenge there is no growth and I am extremely proud of the growth opportunities I have had so far and continue to have at NOVA Entertainment. From nineteen I watched an incredible woman lead with heart, determination and passion whilst always considering their team first and ensuring her own personal brand never wavered. Ten years later, I now work alongside her and many of my key mentors. Be persistent, consistent and most importantly, never afraid to chase your dreams because doors will close on you but generally the one that opens leads you somewhere even better. NOVA Entertainment
