  • Recently, Jess and Matthew visited Mungindi and Moree, the lands of the Kamilaroi people, alongside the Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) and other organisations. Together, we provided financial support, education, and care to these resilient communities. Building strong relationships with First Nations communities is a privilege—one we take seriously.

Senior Manager - Affordability and BPO Operations at EnergyAustralia

This week Matthew Walsh and I had the absolute privilege of spending time in rural and remote NSW, with a focus of supporting our First Nations communities. The First Nations peoples of Mungindi and Moree are Kamilaroi people, the second largest Aboriginal nation on the eastern coast of Australia. We joined Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) and a diverse range of other industry, government and community groups to provide support to those in need. This support included financial support, education and ultimately letting them know they are cared about. Living in rural and remote communities can at times feel very isolated and it’s our responsibility to ensure that the humans in these communities are reminded that they are not alone and we are here to help and support them whenever they need. I am always in awe of the resilience and determination I see in these communities and it’s always such a honour to learn more about their lives and hear the stories of such strong generational connections to land and mob. I encourage anyone who gets the opportunity to strengthen their relationships with our beautiful First Nations communities to do so - it’s a privilege. #mobmatters EnergyAustralia Lisa Mavrodis Andrea Linsenmeier Janine Young GAICD Evrim Gunce Vinnies NSW Legal Aid NSW NSW Ombudsman Origin Energy Essential Energy Services Australia Uniting

  • Did you know that 97% of culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) women believe they have valuable contributions to make at work? Yet, many still face systemic barriers. Amrutha M. shares her experience as a CARM woman at EnergyAustralia and how the RISE program is helping her build confidence and find her voice. Today also marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination—a timely reminder of the work still to be done: 🔹 2 in 3 CARM women have experienced workplace discrimination. 🔹 Almost 3 in 4 feel underpaid and undervalued. 🔹 6 in 7 feel excluded from decision-making processes. 🔹 4 in 5 feel unheard at work. We all have a role in shaping workplaces where talent is recognised, voices are heard, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. • Leading the clean energy transformation for all demands a workforce that is as diverse as it is brilliant. One that’s ready to innovate, challenge, and ensure an equitable transition for all Australians. Thank you to A/Prof Corey Tutt OAM and DeadlyScience for visiting us last week. Your work is not only challenging the stereotypes of STEM professionals but also inspiring future generations, especially our First Nations youth, to see themselves thriving in the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and maths. We are excited to partner with you to bridge the gap in STEM education and empowering young people to explore and unleash their full potential. Together, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future for all. #HeartofEA #WorkplaceGiving #DeadlyScience

  • 💜 Marching Forward Together 💜 International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate progress, uplift voices, and champion inclusion. By supporting one another, we can continue to march forward toward a future where equality isn’t just an ambition—it’s a reality. We believe in the power of connection and the role it plays in driving change. Watch our video as we celebrate some of the people who inspire us every day.

  • How did we decide on the name Wooreen for our new battery storage project? The name Wooreen means “light” in the Gunaikurnai language – a powerful symbol of our shared journey towards a more sustainable energy future. A heartfelt thank you to the Gunaikurnai people for sharing this name with us. Together, we are lighting the way for future generations.
