Foodbank Queensland is the largest hunger relief charity in the state. We feed Queenslanders in need every day.
About us
At Foodbank, we believe everyone should have access to food. There are Australians going without every day and we are working hard to change that. Foodbank in Queensland provides food and groceries to more than 300 front line charities and 300 school breakfast programs each year to make sure no Queenslander experiences hunger. Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from. Foodbank Queensland doesn’t just give people food, we give them dignity and respect by providing a basic human right. But we can’t do it without you. Foodbank Queensland was founded by Clem Jones AO, Ian Brusasco AO AM and David Muir AM in 1995, with the vision of a Queensland without hunger. Today, we are the state’s largest and most trusted hunger relief charity. Every minute, Foodbank provides a staggering 50 meals. This food supports more than 150,000 Queenslanders in need each week, but sadly, demand still outweighs supply. Foodbank operations address 8 UN Sustainability Goals, diverting large volumes of food from landfill, saving water and harmful gas emissions.

🌟 Supporting International Student Wellbeing 🌟 Foodbank Queensland recently teamed up with Allianz Partners Australia to support the wellbeing of international students. More than 1,000 UQ students patiently waited in line to receive essential food items. This event is one of seven being held between August and October, made possible by the dedicated efforts of Foodbank Impact Partner, Allianz Partners. Recently, the inaugural Allianz Partners State of Student Healthcare Report revealed that 75% of international students face financial strain, with many reducing their spending to meet financial commitments. This partnership is a proactive step towards improving the wellbeing of international students studying in Australia amid rising hardship. Working in partnership, we continue to help Queenslanders in need. #FoodbankQueensland #AllianzPartners #InternationalStudents #FoodInsecurity

We are so grateful for the generosity of Motorama Group, for hosting their annual golf day which raised $18,000. What an enormous effort! Thank you for having us along for the day, it was a lot of fun ⭐
A day on the green for a good cause! 🏌️⛳ Last week Motorama hosted our annual Charity Golf day. A day where our staff, key suppliers and fleet customers come together for a game of golf and more importantly raise funds for our community partners Foodbank Queensland. Thanks to the generosity of everyone in attendance we raised $18,000 for Foodbank! This will go a long way in helping provide meals to those in need. A huge thank you to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible. #CharityGolfDay #Motorama #Foodbank #CommunitySupport #GivingBack #FightHunger

We traveled 163,989kms in the Sunny Eggspress! Foodbank Queensland driver Greg, who has been with Foodbank Queensland almost 20 years, is behind all these miles! Greg starts his day between 5:30-6am, beginning with a pick-up of over 300 crates of bread from TipTop bakery for the School Breakfast Program. After unloading at the Foodbank Distribution Centre, he collects food donations from donors, including Coles, Aldi, and Sunny Queen’s Head Office for eggs. He also brings fresh produce to FareShare kitchens and picks up their frozen meals for Foodbank's Members. Thank you to Sunny Queen Australia for donating the Sunny Eggpress to Foodbank. It is such an incredibly valuable part of our truck fleet that enables us to get food to the people in Queensland who need it most.

Brisbane Markets Limited is one of Foodbank Queensland’s valued partners helping us supply nutritious food to hungry Queenslanders. Working together, more than 150,000 kilograms of fresh food is collected by Foodbank Queensland at Brisbane Markets each year and distributed to Queenslanders in need. That’s the equivalent of more than 270,000 meals to help hungry Queenslanders put food on the table. With the help of Brisbane Markets, many wholesalers donate to Foodbank Queensland, some of which have been donating for more than 15 years to help fight hunger across the state. Thank you Brisbane Markets for your continued support. Read more about their continued generosity here: https://lnkd.in/gBpSRKb

A recent post from Foodbank Australia shares that the proposed National Food Donation Tax Incentive Bill has taken a significant step forward, potentially providing millions of additional meals each year and helping to address Australia's food waste problem!
The proposed National Food Donation Tax Incentive has taken a significant step forward with its tabling this week and referral to the committee, and we couldn't be more excited. If implemented, this Bill could provide millions of additional meals each year for those in need while helping address Australia's extensive food waste problem. In his speech introducing the Bill, Senator Dean Smith said, "This Bill proposes a straightforward solution to a growing problem affecting millions of Australians, across the breadth of the country and its many different communities. It does exactly what its title suggests: incentivising companies to donate surplus food to food relief charities by providing them with a tax offset in relation to the expenses they incur." This Bill is the result of extensive collaboration and research by the End Food Waste Australia, KPMG, us here at Foodbank, OzHarvest, and the Queensland and New South Wales state governments. Thank you to everyone who has supported this Bill. We still have a way to go, but this is a step forward in creating a hunger-free Australia. #EndHunger #ZeroHunger #EndFoodWaste

We are grateful to the Lord Mayor's Community Trust for their generous grant, which enabled us to purchase a shipping container to store surplus food during our recent cold storage expansion project. This support has helped us ensure that food continues to reach Queenslanders in need, even amidst our growing infrastructure. Together, we are making a difference and fighting hunger in our community. Thank you for your support!
