Backing the Future, a collaboration between FRRR and Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation, offers $50,000 grants to support innovative projects that benefit young people aged 12-30 in remote, rural, and regional Queensland. If you have a project idea that will help young Queenslanders to access decent work, care for the environment, contribute to society, or explore Christian faith and values, this is your chance to make a difference. 💡 Applications close 17 March 2025. With nearly 60 stunning sculptures and artworks by local, national and international artists, this outdoor exhibition is a must-see in the New England North West. FRRR has awarded more than $685,000 in grants for 27 inspiring initiatives aimed at empowering rural communities across Australia to reduce emissions and tackle climate change. From energy supply solutions, to recycling and climate risk adaptation, these community-led efforts are paving the way for a greener future. 🌍💚 “These projects are a great illustration of the variety of ways in which rural communities and organisations are stepping up to take action and pursue climate solutions," said Sarah Matthee, Climate Solutions Portfolio Lead at FRRR. In case you missed it, just before we finished up for the festive season, we published FRRR's FY24 Annual Review. It was another record year, both in terms of the funds we received ($39.4M) and the grants we awarded ($24.5M). We were able to support 1,188 projects, valued at more than $45.2M and once again, the grants were spread far and wide, reaching 579 individual postcodes. An Investing in Rural Community Futures grant helped create lasting change fortfor young people living in the Bay & Basin region of NSW. Uniting - Firefly Bay & Basin partnered with Sanctuary Point Community Pride Inc to receive a $26,000 grant from FRRR. The grant helped to employ a Youth Practitioner to coordinate their Youth Voice program and it was funded by the Community Enterprise Foundation (the philanthropic arm of Bendigo Bank). Did you know that today is the 2025 International Day of Education? 📚🎓 One of the areas that FRRR supports is lifelong learning, education and training in rural communities. In FY24 alone, we awarded $2,753,947 to more than 150 projects that had that goal. Beyond our grants, we also support NFP organisations to raise funds to support education and training initiatives through our Not-for-Profit Fundraising Accounts and Community Foundation Accounts.
