🌱 Teaming up for renewable fuels growth 🌱 #GrainCorp, Ampol and IFM Investors have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the creation of an Australian #renewablefuels supply chain. GrainCorp CEO Robert Spurway joined Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen MP and The Australian Workers' Union to announce this exciting partnership today. IFM and Ampol will assess the feasibility of building a renewable fuels facility at Ampol’s Lytton refinery in Brisbane, while GrainCorp will look to supply feedstocks, including #canola oil, to the facility. This collaboration marks a significant step towards a #decarbonised future in Australia, as we continue our work to build a domestic renewable fuel production industry with homegrown agricultural feedstock supply. From little things, big things grow 🌳 🤝   For over 20 years, the Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation has poured love and care into a community garden in Port Kembla, NSW, providing fresh and healthy food to the Warrawong Kitchen and the broader community.   The organisation is dedicated to raising the esteem, pride and dignity of young Aboriginal people in their culture and heritage through #artwork, #education and #community development projects.   In celebration of #NAIDOCWeek in Australia, we honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and recognise the enduring strength of their cultures.   We're proud to support the garden and this wonderful community as part of our commitment to having a positive impact in the First Nations communities in which we live and work.   #NAIDOC2024 #BlakLoudAndProud #GrainCorpCommunityFoundation #GrainCorpGrants #WeCare

Our next round of #CommunityGrants is officially open 👏 Pictured below is the Naracoorte Primary School, who used their funding to upgrade the school’s playground, seeing hundreds of local kids play in a much safer environment. “The school’s previous playground had been such a vital asset for students and local community members but was unfortunately becoming a safety hazard,” says Treasurer, Belinda Lowe. “Everyone is so grateful for the wonderful new playground facility for our whole community” Our grants program contributes to a range of local #infrastructure projects, #school programs, #sustainability initiatives and more. How can we turn our fields of gold into a #sustainable fuel source?   Yesterday at The Australian’s Energy Nation Forum, our CEO Robert Spurway joined the discussion on the global contest for energy, with a particular focus on #biofuels. ⛽   Speaking alongside Cecile Wake, Chair of Shell Australia, and Matt Halliday, CEO of Ampol, the discussion emphasised the need for onshore renewable fuel production.   “As the demand for renewable fuel feedstocks grows, it presents a unique opportunity for Australia to play to its natural advantages in agriculture capability, sustainability and land availability,” Robert said.   “GrainCorp is a leading supplier of renewable feedstocks like canola, and with the right policy settings, we’re looking to expand our crush capacity to support the growth of this exciting industry.”   📢Fun fact: The high oil content of Australia’s canola crop makes it ideal for renewable fuels, like Sustainable Aviation Fuel. 🛫   Read more on Robert’s insights here → https://lnkd.in/gSJx9E-j   📸: Lucas Jarvis #Sustainableagriculture #RenewableEnergy #EnergyNation
