    Happy world teachers' day 🥳

Today we celebrate World Teachers' Day across Australia and want to acknowledge the more than 55,000 incredible teachers and school leaders working in state schools across Queensland. Teachers are essential to our schools and communities, from the Torres Strait and Gulf regions, to our borders with the NT, SA and NSW, our epic coastal regions and everywhere in between. They play a vital role in helping to ensure our young people, regardless of where they live and how they access schooling, have the opportunity to realise their potential, and make a difference every day! We also want to acknowledge those people who have recently chosen teaching as their first or next career and welcome you to a challenging, rewarding and important profession 🧠💡. Thank you to all of our current and aspiring Queensland state school teachers and leaders, for guiding our young people towards rewarding futures and for your dedication and passion for education and learning. We encourage everyone to take the time to thank a teacher today! Learn more about how World Teachers' Day is being celebrated across Queensland at: https://lnkd.in/fEHhyqr #WTD2024 #WTD #TeachQld

Did you know there is a retirement income gap for women? The gender pay gap, due to lower income while working, reduces employer superannuation contributions, which can result in lower average superannuation balances and a retirement income gap. The recently released gender pay equity dashboard notes that, as at June 2024, there was a 25.46% gap in superannuation balances for men and women who worked for the Queensland government. This represents a small improvement from 26.14% as at June 2023: https://lnkd.in/gKYvxgqW The OSC has led the introduction of new equity policies in 2024, including payment of superannuation on unpaid parental leave up to 52 weeks. Find out more about these changes here: https://lnkd.in/ezrp2gVh The Gender pay equity report 2024 has also been released for further information: https://lnkd.in/gpP95Sj5 #BeHere4Qld #BeTheDifference #GenderPayGap #Achievement #Improvement #Awareness #Equity #Diversity
