We are excited to announce a creative new partnership between #TheStarBrisbane and Museum of Brisbane which will further cast a spotlight on the stunning public art installations across #QueensWharfBrisbane. These two inspirational women have been champions in advancing gender equity at The Star Entertainment Group, so it's appropriate their incredible work receives the national spotlight it deserves. Another exciting addition to the public art gallery at #QueensWharfBrisbane. The cicada sculpture that once adorned the Cultural Centre busway station will be given a refresh including with a refurbished sound system and a new home, joining the collection of incredible artworks already installed in the precinct. #TheStarBrisbane chief executive officer Daniel Finch said, “Cicada is a welcome contribution to our public art program, a valuable asset to the community and we are proud to continue its legacy in Queensland,” Finch said. The sculpture by local artist John Coleman will remain a Queensland Government asset. Just in time for a long weekend, the grassed riverfront public space, #TheLanding at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is now open. As #TheStarBrisbane continues a progressive rollout of dining and entertainment spaces, this landscaped parkland provides a new green space in the heart of the Brisbane CBD for locals and visitors to enjoy. It is home to some of the multi-million dollar public artworks at the precinct including “Destiny” by First Nations artist Mr Wanambi and “Looking Up” a sculpture formerly installed at The Rockefeller Centre in New York. Announcement! We are delighted to welcome the first ANdAZ hotel in Australasia to our world-class tourism and entertainment precinct #TheStarGoldCoast. #Andaz is one of the Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s suite of brands. It will take over floors six to 21 of the 65-storey hotel and The Star Residences tower that topped out last month and brings to four the number of accommodation offerings at the precinct adding to The Star Grand, The Darling and Dorsett hotel and apartments tower. As a proud partner of Brisbane Festival, #TheStarBrisbane at #QueensWharfBrisbane has provided the backdrop and is among the vantage points for the highly-popular First Nations drone show, “Skylore — The Rainbow Serpent.” 400 drones bring to life the story of the Brisbane River’s creation as told by traditional Owner Shannon Ruska from Tribal Experiences with an original music score by Brisbane’s Guy Webster in celebration of the city, culture and place. We are delighted to help present this spectacular cultural skyshow supporting First Nations and local artistry, driving community connection and boosting local tourism. Events and conferencing is a key focus of the Group whether it be hosting local awards like the upcoming Gold Coast Bulletin Woman of the Year at #TheStarGoldCoast, national events like the recent red-carpet TV Week Events Logies at #TheStarSydney or international extravaganzas. Just two weeks after opening #TheStarBrisbane has hosted back to back events and proudly this week was the venue for the CAPA - Centre for Aviation conference with 450 airline leaders from 31 carriers across 20 countries attending. Appointment! The Star Entertainment Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Mackay as Chief Executive Officer of #TheStarGoldCoast, pending all necessary regulatory approvals. Mr Mackay brings over 18 years of experience in integrated resorts and gaming to the role. Commenting on the appointment, Chairman of The Star, Anne Ward, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Mark to The Star as Chief Executive Officer of The Star Gold Coast. Mark has a deep understanding of what it takes to run a leading integrated resort development and brings a lot of capability to this role. Mark’s appointment and relevant experience further strengthens our leadership team as we focus on implementing the necessary reforms at The Star. This appointment completes the new leadership team structure of decentralised management across our three integrated resort developments in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney.”

A new chapter for the Treasury Building.
