‼️👷 Today we’ve sent dozens of paper houses to decision makers in the EU’s Special Housing Committee to encourage and inspire them to make deep home renovations the top priority during their mandate. 🔨 Why? Because the time is now to pour their energy into solving one of Europe’s most pressing challenges: the state of our building stock. Delivering energy-efficient homes that are powered by renewable energy are key for social justice and the climate ⬇️ -        lowering the EU’s energy demand -        boosting energy security -        cutting carbon emissions -        lifting people out of energy poverty Better homes help us build better lives! 🎴 What does this action entail? A #Roma, dove la questione abitativa resta una delle sfide più complesse, il progetto #PortoFluvialeRecHouse sta trasformando un’ex caserma in un modello di abitare sostenibile e inclusivo, un esempio concreto di come si possa ripensare lo spazio urbano attraverso un processo partecipativo e innovativo. Grazie a un investimento complessivo di oltre 14 milioni di euro, di cui una parte finanziata dal #PNRR, il progetto restituirà alla città un edificio storico riqualificato, destinato a ospitare 54 famiglie in un contesto di edilizia residenziale pubblica (ERP), integrato con servizi aperti all’intera comunità. La vera innovazione, però, sta nel metodo: Porto Fluviale è frutto di una co-progettazione che ha coinvolto fin dall’inizio residenti, istituzioni e università. Attori istituzionali come Il Comune di Roma Capitale, e l’Università degli Studi Roma Tre hanno guidato un percorso di ascolto e progettazione partecipata, con l’obiettivo di preservare l’identità storica, abitativa e sociale del luogo. Questo approccio ha garantito la continuità sociale, valorizzato le esigenze dei cittadini e reso le persone protagoniste della trasformazione del loro spazio di vita. Effective rules are needed, but also funding and technical support, as demonstrated by the good examples of the one-stop shops launched in the cities of Bilbao (Spain) and Łódź (Poland), which help the most fragile communities in energy retrofitting.
