A unique European partnership programme to recycle and regenerate paper cups at scale
About us
The Cup Collective is a unique European partnership programme to recycle and regenerate paper cups on an industrial scale, aiming to see recycling of paper cups surpass a minimum of 5,000 tonnes in the coming years. 🟢 An at-scale solution: Removing barriers to accelerate industrial scale solutions for paper cup recycling across Europe. 🟢 Realising commercial value: Maximizing paper cup value through recovering cups as raw materials for recycling. 🟢 Delivering systemic change through partnership: Delivering an industry solution to a global challenge. We work with our partners through the value chain to put systems in place driving at-scale recycling of single use paper cups. 🟢 Every cup counts: We believe in the value of every single use paper cup. We are developing transparent and traceable solutions to regenerate the value of each cup for new uses. 🟢 Making it easy, making it the everyday: Creating a movement starts one cup at a time. By making it easy for consumers to do the right thing, we will ensure that no cup is left behind.

Circularity Success Stories from 4evergreen alliance profile successful examples of fibre-based packaging solutions. We love the 2023 project highlighted in the "Improving collection and sorting" category with The Cup Collective, a collaboration between Huhtamaki, Seda International Packaging Group, Stora Enso, and McDonald's. It's a European project that helps enable multiple cycles of cup fibre recycling, allowing recycled fibres to be reused and remade into new paper packaging products. We are looking forward to hearing about the new 2024 projects, but you can read more about the 2023 Circularity Success Stories here: https://lnkd.in/gkaauzcJ

👏 💚 Let's raise our paper cups to a fantastic achievement in Dublin! Since we launched 6 months ago, we've successfully collected 95,200 paper cups ready for recycling! This achievement is not just a number; it's a testament to the power of collective action in building a more sustainable future.💚👏 By choosing to recycle our paper cups, we're not only diverting waste from landfills but also conserving valuable resources and reducing our environmental impact. Every cup recycled represents a step forward in our journey towards a greener, cleaner Dublin. It's a reminder that each small action adds up to make a significant difference in our community and beyond. A huge thank you to the dedication and commitment of individuals and businesses across the city – we couldn't have done this without you. Let's continue this momentum and inspire even more individuals and businesses to join us in our recycling efforts. Together, we can make change happen – no cup left behind! #RecyclingMilestone #Dublin #TheCupCollective #GreenFuture #Recycling

Simple. Easy. No cost. Consumers want the opportunity to do the right thing for the planet in a way that seamlessly integrates into their everyday lives. And that’s the best way to drive serious environment change. At The Cup Collective we’ve listened hard and heard what people want: - Making everyday life guilt-free through effortless eco-habits - Convenient, on-site recycling locations - Easy to use systems – simple separation of materials - No additional cost (unlike penalty charges and levies) We’ve designed our robust recycling system to meet this demand for sustainable choices and we’re already changing the way consumers behave. But to make our system even easier, convenient and accessible, we need more partners so we can be in more places and make effortless eco-habits a no-brainer for even more people. Join our collective and together we can transform paper cup recycling at scale. We’re thrilled that The Cup Collective has joined forces with Trinity College Dublin, providing the 1.5 million annual visitors to the campus even more sustainable solutions. The student-led partnership launched last week during the campus’ Green Week and is just one example of students coming together to inspire change and create a positive impact on our environment. And we’re proud to play our small part. To read the full article from the Irish Examiner click on the link in the comments. #thecupcollective #trinitycollegedublin #recycling #trinitygreenweek

♻️ On Global Recycling Day, we’re proud of the work we’re doing to build robust, at-scale systems to contribute solutions for the recycling challenge. ♻️ Did you know that by recovering the fibres from used paper cups, the material can be turned into other paper or board products, which can then also be recycled. This is known as open-loop recycling, where the recycling process converts secondary raw material into a new product e.g. paper cups become magazine paper, become packaging and so on. ♻️ This process is generating added value by prolonging the wood fibre's life-cycle. In some cases, the fibre from paper cups can be recycled multiple times, as our graphic shows. ♻️ So, on this Global Recycling Day we’re asking you to join our collective. Together, we can achieve our circular ambition and give paper cups multiple new lives. #GlobalRecyclingDay #EveryCupCounts #Recycle #CircularEconomy
