The Kids' Conservation Organization

About us

Earth Rangers is the world's largest children's conservation organization, dedicated to educating children and their families about biodiversity, inspiring them to adopt sustainable behaviours, and empowering them to become directly involved in protecting animals and their habitats. Earth Rangers visits hundreds of elementary schools across North America each year, delivering fun, dynamic, and interactive school-wide assemblies and hands-on classroom experiments focused on biodiversity and environmental science. By becoming an Earth Ranger, children, with support from their families, make a commitment to engage in actions that directly contribute to the protection of wildlife. We currently have over 300,000 members across Canada and the United States. Earth Rangers has a staff of about 40 and an operating budget of about $6.5 million. Our offices are located on Pine Valley Drive in Woodbridge, adjacent to the Kortright Centre for Conservation Area. Designed to embody our values, the Earth Rangers Centre for Sustainable Technology is an advanced green building, a showcase of cutting edge sustainable building technology. More information about Earth Rangers is available on our website, earthrangers.com

🌱 Today marks the 3rd annual Maple Leaf Foods Inc Little Changes Day, a day of collective action for the planet that we helped to establish in celebration our client’s carbon neutral anniversary! 🌎      Did you know you can regenerate lettuce by replanting a core? This year’s Grow Your Own Greens Challenge, launched in partnership with Earth Rangers, teaches families about the importance of sustainable farming and how to start your own at-home indoor garden - a little change that can have a big impact on reducing our carbon footprint. 🌿 Learn more here: https://shorturl.at/TZFHC

This summer, we challenged teens across Canada to Take a Stand for Wildlife in our ER Teens program. Sisters Sienna and Natasha got creative to collect donations for swift foxes and river otters, two species threatened by climate change and human development. Sienna sculpted clay figurines for her Etsy shop to raise money for swift fox conservation. "When I found out about the dropping swift fox numbers in the wild, I knew I had to help save them from extinction," she says. "Knowing that my goal was to fundraise for a cause such as that was very special and uplifting for me." Natasha had never been involved with fundraising before, but like her sister, she was excited to use her special skills to create river otter clay figurines. "The people at Earth Rangers supported me throughout my journey," she says. "They knew how special it was for me to help save these animals." We're extraordinarily grateful to work with Natasha, Sienna, and young people all across Canada, giving them the resources and support they need to take action for wildlife in their own communities.

I’m so happy to see Earth Rangers and Ontario Parks | Parcs Ontario team up to reduce litter in provincial parks. Recently, Earth Rangers did a clean-up at Bronte Creek Provincial Park! This initiative encourages youth and their families to connect with nature while learning about biodiversity and conservation. Together, let’s all do our part to reduce litter and keep our parks clean and healthy.

This week, Call2Recycle and Earth Rangers announced the winners of the 2024 Ontario Spring Recycle Your Batteries Canada! Battery Blitz contest at Sophiasburgh Central School in Demorestville, Ontario. We were pleased to have Steve Ferguson, Mayor of Prince Edward County, join us in celebrating Ontario’s young environmental stewards. Since 2015, our Battery Blitz Contest has inspired communities across Canada, collecting over 100,000 kg of used batteries for safe disposal and recycling. This initiative not only protects the environment but also educates students on the importance of sustainable practices. Thank you to all participating students, educators, and communities for championing a greener future! 🌱👏 Read our press release: https://lnkd.in/e_FQEVsi

Our clean-up at Bronte Creek Provincial Park this past weekend was an incredible success! 🚯 A huge thank you to all the families who joined us to clear litter, connect with nature, and preserve this beautiful park. This summer, we challenged teens across Canada to Take a Stand for Wildlife in our ER Teens program. Young people got creative to collect donations for threatened species like polar bears, swift foxes, and river otters. With incredible support from her community, ER Teens member Sunny held a bake sale and raised over $290 for river otter conservation! "Everyone was extremely kind and supportive of my cause," she shared, "which made me realize that there is hope for conservation and restoration projects, as well as an interest in the mitigation of anthropogenic environmental impact." We’re inspired by passionate young leaders like Sunny who are making a real difference for our planet - one sweet treat at a time. 🍪

Meet Tanmayi! With the support of our ER Teens staff, this 16-year-old organized a school supply recycling drive--and saved over 300 markers from landfill. That's over ten pounds of plastic! "I learned to take more of a leadership role," Tanmayi said of her time in ER Teens. "In this program, I get to make the outline and decide the best approach, so it was nice having that sort of initiative." We're so proud of Tanmayi for taking charge and reducing waste in her community. If you know a teenager who's interested in taking action for the environment, visit https://lnkd.in/gUN6S-Gn to get in touch with our staff.

ER Teens were eager to join our Take a Stand for Wildlife campaign to support conservation, using their unique skills for a great cause! Friends Amanda, Celine, and Yunie worked together to organize bake sales and share info cards about polar bear conservation with their classmates. Celine loves to bake, Yunie enjoys designing, and Amanda's a great planner - they were all able to use their strengths while taking a stand for wildlife! "Through this fundraising opportunity, we believe we developed a strong sense of resilience," they said. "Not everyone will be willing to help the cause you are fundraising for, and things may not always run smoothly, but by maintaining a positive mindset, fundraising is fun, educational, and beneficial to everyone."
