At Climate Week NYC, I had the privilege of co-presenting with the amazing Aileen Strickland McGee, Laura Francois, and Parneet Pal in a truly special workshop at the beautiful Steelcase showroom, all made possible by the brilliant Harald Neidhardt, CEO of futur/io Institute—thank you, Harald Neidhardt! Together, we offered a much-needed pause, asking: what if we approached climate action from a place of health, awe, and regeneration? Joined by both old friends and new, we gathered overlooking Central Park to reflect on these transformative ideas. I pondered the question: what if we truly felt our deep interconnection with the living systems around us? Awe can serve as a powerful entry point to Systems Feeling—a deeper recognition of our entanglement within the systems we aim to transform. As Parneet Pal insightfully shared: "By optimizing our lifestyle and mitochondrial health, reducing inflammation, and improving moment-to-moment decision-making, we can begin bridging the gap between inner and outer sustainability." From awe and systems feeling, we naturally transitioned to our own human systems—our bodies—emphasizing the importance of personal health in shaping climate leadership. I also reflected on the broader question: what if our leadership strategies were inspired by nature's marvels? How might we exist differently as leaders in this time of planetary crisis? A heartfelt thank you to Aileen Strickland McGee Kim Dabbs and Kim Koeman for hosting us with such care, and to my beautiful partners Parneet Pal and Laura Francois. This moment reminded us of the power of pausing, feeling, and regenerating as essential tool for effective climate leadership. #regenerativeleadership nuway #awe #pause #climateweek24 #steelcase #climateleadership #sustainability #idgs

Imagine a world where businesses operate with the same respect and reciprocity as the natural world. A world where resources are not merely commodities, but gifts to be cherished and honored. This vision is beautifully articulated in Robin wall kimmerer's book "Braiding Sweetgrass," which explores the Indigenous wisdom encapsulated in the concept of the Honorable Harvest. As a regenerative leadership guide, I find profound resonance in these teachings, which echo the values instilled in me by my family during childhood. The Honorable Harvest teaches us to take only what we need, use everything we take, minimize harm, and be grateful for the gifts of the Earth. These principles, though simple, hold transformative potential for business leaders seeking to foster sustainability and ethical practices. Read the core tenets of the Honorable Harvest and how they can inspire a new era of regenerative business leadership. #regeneration #leadership #paradigms #shift #reconnection

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Angel Acosta to our Flock. For over a decade, Angel has dedicated himself to bridging the crucial fields of leadership, social justice, and mindfulness. With a doctorate in curriculum and teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University, his profound insights have shaped the paths of countless educational leaders and their students. Angel's leadership trainings are renowned for not only enhancing skills but also creating vital pathways to higher education. His innovative approach to designing dynamic learning experiences has made a lasting impact on the field. His dissertation highlighted the potential of healing-centered education as a transformative framework for developing educational leaders. After his participation in the Mind and Life Institute’s Academy for Contemplative Leadership, Angel has focused on consulting and developing learning experiences that integrate leadership development with critical conversations on inequality and healing. This approach supports educational leaders by incorporating contemplative and restorative practices. Angel’s role as a former trustee for the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society has seen him contribute significantly as a speaker and discussant, including at the Asia Pacific Forum on Holistic Education in Kyoto, Japan. He is also the creative mind behind the "Contemplating 400 Years of Inequality Experience," a contemplative journey designed to deepen understanding of structural inequality. As a proud member of the 400 Years of Inequality Project at the New School, Angel is continually exploring how technology can serve as a powerful tool for advancing racial equity and dismantling structural barriers. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Angel Acosta to The Flock, where we are eager to learn from his experience and integrate his transformative ideas into our journey of regenerative leadership. 🌿 Let’s continue to grow and learn together! #TheFlock #RegenerativeLeadership #SocialJustice #Mindfulness nuway Acosta Institute

New on the Neol blog! 🔖 Creative Leader Fanny Eliaers shares her story on escaping the silos of traditional leadership models, moving towards life-affirming economies and regenerative leadership practices, and how she created a path to put it all into practice through "The Flock". 🕊 "Our ideas of leadership – what it is or isn’t, what it could and should be – have been in a state of flux for some time now. From conversations around burnout to holistic workplace practices, the amount of attention we pay to what many have deemed a crisis of leadership far outstrips the amount of airtime we give to actually creating new forms of it." 🔗 Read Fanny's story here: https://lnkd.in/dGhePtDA
