  • Meet the faces behind Toronto's favourite physiotherapy brand 😁 Karlyn Driedger joined the Foundation as an associate in 2015. In 2018, she partnered with the Foundation to lead the first expansion at the Downtown location. She currently serves as the Foundation's pelvic health lead and director of operations. Alexandra Sandler joined Foundation as an associate in 2014 and went on to lead our second expansion in beautiful Corktown! She is currently the brand's director of recruitment and HR. Raj Suppiah PT co-founded Foundation in 2011 with a vision to bring high-quality, one-on-one, outcome-driven musculoskeletal health to Toronto. While this was a novel idea at the time, it has now become the gold standard for physiotherapy care! Raj is in charge of Foundation's marketing strategy and serves as our director of growth. Our vision is to bring quality physical and movement health care to more communities across Ontario and, hopefully, Canada! We continue to practice as physiotherapists and ensure that the Foundation continues to be a leader in this rapidly changing industry. We do this by chasing productivity and excellence while giving our staff a great workplace where they can learn, grow, and have fun. If you ever see us at the clinics, please say hi! We always love a good chat! #fueledbyfoundation

  • When you visit us for lower back pain, our first step will be pinpointing the reason for your pain. To do this, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation, including a health history, a review of your symptoms, and an assessment of your range of motion, strength, and any areas of discomfort. We then use the information from this assessment to create a tailored treatment plan featuring the most effective interventions, strategies, and techniques suited to your needs, such as: 💙Hands-on manual therapy techniques to relieve pain and improve mobility 💙Additional pain management techniques, like heat or cold therapy or electrical stimulation 💙Targeted exercises to strengthen your core and back muscles, enhancing support for your spine 💙Information about proper body mechanics, correct lifting techniques, and other strategies to improve your condition Our goal is to help you #movebetter and #feelbetter while reducing the risk of future injuries. 🔗 Click the link to learn more or to set up an appointment with us: https://bit.ly/3Xvy7nx

  • Running season isn't over yet 🏃♀️🏃🏽♂️ See below for tips that will help with the top 5 common injuries: 💙 Always warm up. Dynamic warm-up preferred (5-10 mins) 💙 Work with a professional to develop a tailored program (periodization). 💙 Develop a strength and conditioning routine to supplement your cardiovascular fitness. Check-in with a local strength and conditioning specialist or physiotherapist. 💙 Within your S&C routine, perform conditioning drills to address your weaknesses or nagging injuries. Focus on improving and maintaining running technique over time. Work with a physiotherapist to determine these areas. 💙 Vary running surface. Definitely do not run on pavement only. (grass, rubber, sand, gravel) 💙 Swimming, cycling, and other lower impact exercises can make you a better runner too. You can cross-train with lower impact exercises and still achieve better running times. This can be useful at different times in your training cycle.
