📉 Last Friday saw a significant risk-off move in global markets. Equities dropped around 2%, and the VIX skyrocketed. The catalyst for the sell-off? The U.S. labor market data disappointed, with fewer new jobs created and the unemployment rate rising for the fourth consecutive month to 4.3%. The increased unemployment triggered growth and recession fears among market participants. For instance, the «Sahm Rule» indicates a U.S. recession. The rule states that a recession is imminent if the three-month moving average (MAV) of the unemployment rate rises more than 0.5% above the minimum three-month MAV of the last 12 months. So wird uns z.B. unser erster Award-Gewinn in London – und die dazugehörenden Feierlichkeiten – für immer ein Schmunzeln aufs Gesicht zaubern.   Ebenso eindrücklich war das erste Meeting mit einem der global erfolgreichsten und grössten Quant-Manager.   Wie das Bild vom Gründungstag beweist, ist der wilde Ritt nicht spurlos an uns vorbeigegangen. Wie bei jedem guten Abenteuer gabs auch bei unserem eine gute Portion Leiden, Schweiss und Tränen dazu.
