Despite the dangers of war, Dmytro – a former restaurant manager – and Yulia work together on Alliance for Public Health mobile medical teams, which are supported by The Global Fund. The mobile teams operate in white vans, bringing HIV and TB testing, treatment and other lifesaving care to communities completely cut off from health services in Ukraine. The teams have completed 497 missions, reaching 20,000 people. Dmytro and Yulia say their determination to do this work comes from the resilience of the people they support. https://lnkd.in/e7HMxAYS

Every year, Nurse Pascaline cares for approximately 400 people diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB), and over the last 23 years, she has supported around 9,000 TB patients and their families. “They’re our children, they’re our families, and they’re our friends”. The Democratic Republic of Congo has a high TB burden. Poverty, malnutrition, conflict, stigma, and weak health care infrastructure help fuel the disease. Yet, Nurse Pascaline’s efforts have helped increase TB treatment coverage from 48% in 2012 to 70% in 2022. Nurse Pascaline’s dedication is helping to make real progress in the fight against TB. #WomensMonth https://lnkd.in/esAngTgz
