3D printing as additional qualification for our apprentices with added value for the company: BAADER offers something that is probably unique in Lübeck - apprentices can print parts for BAADER machines using 3D plastic printers and coordinate all the necessary work steps themselves. So it's not just about the relatively new technology, but also about other aspects, as deputy training manager Janek Görtz explains. ‘Our trainees practice project management skills here,’ he says. ‘They have to organize, structure and plan themselves, take responsibility, set themselves goals and reflect on their achievement and prove themselves in a team. This is a real unique selling point in the training landscape in Lübeck.’ The team consists of an interdisciplinary group of 4 to 6 trainees and dual students. They print parts that are needed in the R&D process. For machine tools they can produce spare parts that are expensive or no longer available. The apprentices also print entire machines on a small scale as a complete machine model. This allows customers and BAADER employees to place and model the machines using the production floor plan. The 3D concept is constantly being developed and optimized. We are delighted to announce the technical opening of Avicola San Isidro S.A. (AVISID) state-of-the-art poultry processing plant in Isidro Ayora, Ecuador, fully equipped by BAADER.
