🤝 Welcome to CARIAD, Viktoria Solms!   Viktoria will join CARIAD as the new Head of Communications on November 1, 2024, taking over our team communications, brand and marketing team.   Previously, Viktoria was Head of Communications at Porsche Digital, the sports car manufacturer's technology and digital unit. She began her career as a business reporter at Axel Springer and, at the height of the financial crisis, reported from New York as a US correspondent.    She then took responsibility for communications for the global launch of the ShareTheMeal app, an initiative of the UN World Food Programme (WFP). #Automated driving functions for everyone: This is our common goal in the Automated Driving Alliance with Bosch Mobility.   With a #data-driven development approach, we managed to significantly shorten the go-to-market timelines of new functions – from the first line of code, to tests and validation, to the delivery of functions. In 2025, the first functions from the Alliance will go into series production, featuring #handsfree-driving on freeways and active lane-changing support. __ #WeAreCARIAD #ADAS #AutomatedDriving

When gaming meets parking: Christian Feist and his team work on next-generation parking functions. During concept-development, they encountered a problem: Existing editors to create virtual environments for simulation training were designed for highways and roads. They did not meet the requirements of parking environments. Thus the team needed a different solution to train their models. A hint on how they approached this challenge: Simulation games are quite common in the gaming industry, especially for the mobility sector. From farming simulators to truck simulators to flight simulators – gaming studios simulate nearly everything. Why shouldn’t they be able to simulate parking facilities, too? #Connectivity is at the core of the Software Defined Vehicle. It’s transforming the digital in-car experience and making vehicles smarter, safer, and more responsive. This innovation was at the forefront when German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited our subsidiary, Volkswagen Infotainment GmbH, during his recent trip to the Ruhr area. In the development hall, we had the privilege of demonstrating our advanced connectivity solutions, like Online Connectivity Units (OCU). 💬 "Volkswagen Infotainment’s solutions illustrate how today’s and tomorrow’s vehicles are becoming safer and user-friendlier. Using the most modern technology, a substantial contribution to safer streets and climate-friendlier traffic is made here. It is a good example of how a tradition-rich company like Volkswagen can successfully set itself up for the future and can in so doing react in an agile fashion to market trends", said Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Around 26 million vehicles from the Volkswagen Group have been equipped with these Online Connectivity Units (OCU). OCUs connect the vehicle to the internet, enabling functions like emergency calls, #charging functions or over the air updates. Solutions like these are the basis for several digital in-car experiences, which we deliver to the brands of the #VWGroup. 💡 With locations in Bochum and Wolfsburg, Volkswagen Infotainment works in the areas of connectivity and #automotive software, led by Managing Directors Tobias J.
