On 29 January, at the Europe Space Conference in Brussels, we opened a new chapter in the long-standing cooperation with Africa. Under the EU's #GlobalGateway strategy, the European Commission DG INTPA, the African Space Agency, EUMETSAT, European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts - ECMWF, and European Space Agency - ESA celebrated the signature of agreements putting the new Africa-EU Space Partnership Programme into actions. Supporting African users has been central to EUMETSAT’s mission for decades. As climate change intensifies extreme weather events, the demand for satellite-based meteorological and climate data, particularly from our Meteosat series of geostationary satellites, is high. As part of this new #Partnership, we will work hand in hand with the African Union Commission, African meteorological and climate institutions, and ECMWF to enhance monitoring and forecasting capabilities, and advance Early Warning systems. What a great way to end the 17th European Space Conference!    This afternoon, we signed contribution agreements on the Africa-EU Space Partnership Programme with African Space Agency European Space Agency - ESA EUMETSAT and European Commission    This action reinforces our commitment to the World Meteorological Organization's #EarlyWarnings4All initiative.    We are looking forward to implementing this action and to putting our many years of experience in providing and co-designing EO-based weather and climate data products and services to these strategic stakeholders.
