Cheers, Mercedes-Benz C-Class 203 model series, Happy 25th Birthday! A quarter of a century ago, the C-Class (W 203) set new standards in safety, comfort, and quality in the midsize segment. Today, we’re looking back at its milestones. Following the 190 (W 201) and the first C-Class (202 series) 25 years ago, the 203 series took the market by storm as a stylistically and technically redesigned dynamic mid-range model. In addition to the saloon, the 203 series included two other variants: the 2000 sports coupé (CL 203), followed by the 2001 estate (S 203). The sporty and practical strengths of this C-Class shone even on the Formula 1 stage. In the 2004 to 2007 Grand Prix races, the Mercedes-Benz C 55 AMG estate served as the F1 Medical Car, taking on the role of the emergency response vehicle thanks to its AMG standard high-performance technology suspension and drivetrain. As with its predecessors – the C 55 AMG of the 202 series and the C 32 AMG of the 203 series – the Medical Car ensured quick medical assistance in the event of accidents on the racetrack.

We reaffirm our commitment to sustainability. Our ongoing progress and investments in energy efficiency, circularity, and renewables are driving us toward our goal of a 50% reduction* in value-chain CO₂ emissions within the next decade. At today’s Sustainability Update, we shared our latest achievements and outlined the next steps in our journey: By the end of 2024, we had achieved a 75% reduction in carbon emissions from our production facilities, compared to 2018. 50% of our energy requirements at production plants are now met by renewable sources. Our all-electric CLA marks a new era in efficiency. For its production, energy consumption at our Rastatt plant has been reduced by 15%, compared to the previous model. We’re ahead of schedule in assessing human-rights risks in our raw-materials supply chain, with 65% of the work complete. Our goal is to increase the share of renewable energy in production to 100% by 2039, while reducing energy, water, and waste in production costs by a further 25% by 2030. Mercedes-Benz production plants worldwide have already reduced overall waste for disposal by 38%, compared to 2023, thanks to improved recycling rates. New name, same ease of use: Mercedes me Charge is now MB.CHARGE Public. This service bundles digital functions for Mercedes drivers, making public charging convenient and seamlessly integrated into the MBUX system and Mercedes-Benz app. MB.CHARGE Public allows customers to reserve charging points at our own Mercedes-Benz charging hubs in advance, saving time and ensuring availability, initially in Germany and the US, with plans to expand to other countries in the future. Starting in April 2025, business and fleet customers can also utilise the public charging service MB.CHARGE Public as well as an integrated web-based Charging Fleet Portal. For the Sprinter's 30th anniversary, Mercedes-Benz Vans is making a statement for a noble cause by handing over its 1,500th van to Tafel Deutschland e.V. For more than 30 years, Tafel’s food bank initiatives in Germany have ensured that edible food is not wasted but instead distributed among people in need. We have supported this responsible use of resources through our vehicle sponsorship for almost as long. During the Sprinter City Event, marking the Sprinter’s 30th anniversary, David Perdomo Hollatz, Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans Germany, handed over the vehicle to Schwaebische Tafel Stuttgart at the Berlin-Spandau branch. The new Sprinter is a high-roof panel van equipped with a refrigeration unit conversion by Kerstner, ensuring even perishable food can be safely transported from donors to Tafel distribution points in Baden-Württemberg’s capital. This van is a Sprinter, just like the first and 1,000th vehicle the Tafel has received.

The all-new CLA gets its own Class of Creators – but who is part of this Class of Creators and what does it even mean? A week and a half ago, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its latest automotive icon at the stunning Villa Miani, bringing together top talents from various creative industries and influential friends of the brand. During the event, Mercedes-Benz announced ‘Class of Creators,’ a creative collaboration featuring the new CLA. Cultural trailblazers like GRAMMY-nominated rapper Ice Spice, Swedish interior designer Gustaf Westman, US fashion designer Colm Dillane (aka KidSuper), the gaming platform League of Legends, and toy car brand Hot Wheels will present innovative visions inspired by the all-new CLA as a creative platform – merging Mercedes-Benz and the artists’ DNA.
