In a recent workshop hosted by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of #Morocco and the NDC Partnership, participants took significant steps to advance climate investment planning through the “Project Checklist” pilot program led by UNEP and the investment advisory group CrossBoundary. The pilot kickstarts a process to systematically link NDC-aligned projects with financiers and support providers. By standardizing project information, the checklist pilot addresses fragmentation in climate finance, making project data accessible and useful for investors. This effort supports governments in meeting investor expectations and building a centralized project database. The pilot aims to address fragmentation in the climate finance space by collecting, organizing and making project information accessible to potential investors in a standardized manner. This process helps governments meet investor expectations and build a centralized database of projects. 🇽🇰 Kosovo presented its first voluntary NDC at the NDC Partnership Pavilion One year after pledging bold action for a sustainable future, Kosovo presented it NDC today — a detailed plan that sets ambitious goals for climate action and resilience. Highlights from the NDC include: ✅ Emissions reductions: Kosovo aims for a 16.3% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030. ✅ Energy transition: The plan targets 1,600 MW of wind and solar by 2031, with successful projects like the 100 MW solar auction, setting new regional standards for renewable energy. ✅ Climate adaptation: Investments in water infrastructure and flood risk management are a priority to enhance community resilience. ✅ Sustainable Transport: Kosovo is upgrading its railway network to reduce emissions, emphasizing sustainable transport and regional connectivity. Happening today @ 6:30 p.m. AZT at the UK Pavilion: Enhanced access to finance is vital for climate-vulnerable developing countries to effectively respond to the escalating impacts of climate change. For SIDS and LDCs — among the most susceptible to rising sea levels and extreme weather events — the stakes are higher than ever, with communities at risk of displacement and livelihoods under severe threat. Yet, these nations face significant barriers in mobilizing the necessary funding due to inefficiencies in the global climate finance system. The "High-Level Dialogue on Unlocking Climate Finance" session at the UK Pavilion brings together national governments, financial institutions and climate experts.
