A light atom with a big impact: where #hydrogen is found in the universe and on Earth. Did you know that hydrogen is a fundamental element of our solar system? It makes up 90% of all atoms and around 75% of the total mass. On Earth, however, its share of the total weight is much smaller, at just 0.12%. Unlike in space, hydrogen on Earth is mostly bound, with the largest portion found in water, which covers more than two-thirds of the planet’s surface. 💧 Hydrogen can be generated from this water through electrolysis. When powered by renewable energy, this process produces green hydrogen. 💚 As a key driver of #decarbonization, hydrogen plays a vital role in shaping a sustainable future. This molecule has great potential, doesn't it?

What if we could look ahead to 2050 ✨? At Bosch Hydrogen Energy, we've been thinking about the future #energylandscape. Looking ahead to 2050, many countries have set ambitious targets to achieve #climateneutrality. For example, the European Union has committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 through the European Climate Change Act (European Parliament, 2023). In addition, over 50 UN member states have set similar CO2 neutrality targets for the same year (Handelsblatt, 2021). Although the future is complex, we are dedicated to crafting a vision of what lies ahead. Our approach to the future energy landscape allows us to explore solution scenarios and helps to illustrate the necessary steps we need to take today to turn innovative solutions into reality for tomorrow. 👉 Explore our vision of the energy system of the future: https://lnkd.in/enW76m_7 What is your vision of the future energy landscape 2050? Energy storage systems play an important role in tomorrow's energy supply. ⚡🔋 #Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are subject to fluctuations that can affect the availability of electricity. This is where #storage solutions come in. In the short term, #batteries offer an efficient way to store excess energy and release it when needed. In the long term, #hydrogen offers a promising solution. 👉 Electrolysis converts excess electricity into hydrogen, which can then be stored and converted back into electricity when needed. This flexibility makes hydrogen a key element for the #future 💚.
