📢 CTCN joined the Green Climate Fund Dialogue in the Caribbean, fostering discussions between NDEs, NDAs & key partners on enhancing country-level engagement. With SIDS facing unique environmental challenges, the event emphasized regional trade, knowledge sharing & private sector involvement for successful tech deployment. 70% of GCF’s projects are focused on climate technologies, with the United Nations Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) supporting technology innovation and transfer in Caribbean countries. This includes linking technical assistance outputs to GCF’s full funding proposals, such as the case of Antigua and Barbuda’s FP133, which involves transforming a church into a hurricane shelter. During the session, NDEs and NDAs from Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and Grenada openly shared future opportunities, emphasizing how CTCN’s technical assistance plays a pivotal role in providing essential data and evidence to support various GCF projects. 📷 Photo credit: Green Climate Fund UN Environment Programme, UN Climate Change, Fred Onduri, Dr Stephen Minas, Ariesta Ningrum, Jeawon Kim, PhD.
