Exciting News! 🍀 Green2x is proud to announce a long-term biomethane offtake partnership with ReFuels N.V, a key player in Europe's renewable biomethane market. The collaboration involves a long-term biomethane supply and offtake partnership, aiming to accelerate the decarbonization of the UK road transport sector - and is an important milestone for Green2x, proving that the market sees potential in green fuels at scale. At Green2x, we specialize in large-scale bio-fuel production, utilizing cutting-edge technology to turn agricultural leftovers into energy. “The commercial cooperation between Green2x and ReFuels N.V is our largest offtake agreement to date and part of the strategy to ensure sufficient biomethane supply for our rapidly growing demand, driven by fleet owners looking for an economically viable solution to decarbonize their operations. Further, it demonstrates that our biomethane offtake experience and Bio-CNG station infrastructure make us an attractive counterparty for large biomethane offtake agreements,” said Jasper Nillesen, Executive Director of ReFuels. “I am extremely pleased with this strategic partnership, as Green2x and ReFuels N.V share a mission to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries, such as heavy road transport. We have a like-minded approach to developing the market for green fuels, and I look forward to continuing to push this ambitious agenda together,” said Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO of Green2x. At Green2x, we are on a journey to develop one of the world’s largest biomethane production plants at the Port of Vordingborg from a cutting-edge technology extracting energy from agricultural leftovers, such as straw, which remains unused on the field after harvesting.       A big thank you to the Biogas Solutions Research Center for hosting us in Linköping during their workshop on "Biomass Residues to Bioenergy" Green2x's CCO, Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, and Head of Business Development, Tobias Bo Jensen, were invited to share Green2x's perspectives on using large quantities of straw for bioenergy and our insights on building up the supply chain.   Here are some key takeaways from the session: ☘ Green2x’s efficient process and the high energy density of straw enable very large-scale production. Green2x’ first plant in Vordingborg Port will become the world's largest biogas plant at full-scale capacity ☘ There are abundant straw resources in Europe and the Baltic Sea area, much of which is currently not being utilized. ☘ It is possible to retrieve sufficient straw without compromising soil organic carbon levels and soil fertility. ☘ Green2x works closely with the agricultural industry and is interested in long-term, stable contracts with fair prices for all parties. ☘ We plan to ramp up straw usage over time to ensure the smooth implementation of large volumes.   "We are very happy to engage with cutting-edge researchers in the field of biogas solutions and to hear their input on our plans for developing large-scale biofuel plants in Denmark and Sweden using only straw as feedstock. Thank you to Thomas Prade, Anna Eronn, and the rest of the BSRC for inviting us and for the interesting discussions," says Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig.   Green2x is on a mission to decarbonize the gas industry with new scalable technology that can transform agricultural leftovers, such as straw or other cellulose-based feedstocks, into green biofuels like methane and CO2, or upgrade them to methanol. Green2x is currently preparing for its first site at Port of Vordingborg, where Arcadia eFuels is also present, followed by a second site recently announced at Malmö Port in collaboration with Copenhagen Malmö Port.   Remember to click “follow” to see news on our journey to scale biofuels globally

Summer is here, and it's time to bring in the straw! 🌞 Here's a snapshot of Green2x's CEO, Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, and Business Development Lead, Tobias Bo Jensen’s trip to the fields with our partners. It’s important for us to stay close to our value chain and build strong partnerships to enable our mission as well as the green transition together! Straw is an essential input for us, as our technology can turn agricultural residues like straw into low-carbon biofuels such as biomethane and biomethanol, as well as biogenic CO2 for the Power-to-X (PtX) industry.

I strongly believe that understanding your full value chain and engaging with stakeholders along the way is critical for success. From my experience, most time is spend on own organization and internal processes but value chain steps outside own organization are often as critical for success. You need happy employees AND strong partnerships to succeed. That's an important part of our strategy in Green2x. Sometime this requires hard work. Sometimes it feels more like summer vacation😊 Yesterday was an example of the latter: In the field baling straw with extremely competent farmers on a perfect summer day. It doesn’t get much better than this! Thank you Tobias Bo Jensen for facilitating!

This week, Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO of Green2x, was invited by Danish Energy Agency and The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities' Bionetværk to share insights about our progress for our first site in Vordingborg and our technology. Vordingborg Biofuels, located at the Port of Vordingborg, Denmark, will be our first plant. Here, we will convert straw, a natural byproduct of farming, into approximately 175 million cubic meters of methane and around 350,000 tons of biogenic CO2. At full scale, this will be world's largest biogas plant and convert ~10% of the Danish gas consumption to green gas. At Green2x, we highly value such invitations as they foster dialogue among market players across the entire value chain, from feedstock and processing to output (including CO2) and regulatory aspects. These discussions promote mutual understanding of market conditions and collaboration, enabling us to collectively work towards a greener world with the right conditions and at the right speed. Green2x are always happy to engage in open dialogue about our initiatives and developments. Thank you for the invite Kristian Havskov Sørensen

Snapshot from this week's news, where Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO, and Peter Stabell, Project Director, talk to Sjællandske Medier about the development of our first commercial site in Vordingborg Port and producing biomethane and biogenic CO2 from straw as our single feedstock. To accelerate the green transition, we need to utilize biomass like residuals (i.e., unused straw leftovers) from the farming industry today to decarbonize the hard-to-electrify sectors. Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO, elaborates: “It is important that both decision-makers and agriculture understand the issue we are facing: We need to replace fossil fuels with green alternatives. Here, solar, wind, and biomass all play an important role. The question is not whether we should do it or which technology will 'win.' Everything must be used as quickly as possible! And we need to start where the impact is greatest! Production of biogas from straw is a very obvious choice in this context.” Imagine that the straw you see in the fields in summer can enable green transition!
