On 24th October, or cluster manager Caitríona Mordan had an amazing evening at the Round Room at the Mansion House at the Business Post Women in STEM Summit & Awards hosted by Jess Kelly. The cluster was honoured to be shortlisted for Dreambig - our industry-driven talent attraction programme in the category STEM recruitment campaign of the year. Dreambig (D-Digitalisation, R-Robotics, E-Engineering, A-Advanced Manufacturing, M-Materials) brings together all key partners in the Midlands ecosystem to inspire, engage, educate and support young people to pursue career in advanced manufacturing. We are working collectively to highlight that to Dreambig, you don't need to go far! Having just launched the programme in 2023, we were thrilled to be shortlisted along-side the following amazing organisations: Dublin City University, Fastrack into Information Technology (FIT) , Workday. Well done to worthy winners on the night, Bus Éireann! To the atim cluster Steering Committee, our 15 partner companies, 4 local authorities, TUS, IMR, the teachers, parents and most importantly, the students for backing the programme. It was a pleasure celebrating with colleagues Rónán Dunbar and Clodagh Reid who are working on the delivery of our Dreambig micro-module programme. It was great to connect with female STEM trailblazers including Dr Lollie Mancey, Emma Callinan and many more. A big thank you to everyone who helped spotlight the importance of recognising women in STEM and for bringing us all together! We are full of inspiration as we make the final preparations for Dreambig 2024 which will take place from 11th-15th November! We are beyond thrilled to share that Dreambig, an initiative of the atim cluster, has been shortlisted for the STEM Recruitment Campaign of the Year at the prestigious Women in STEM Awards! 🌟 Launched in May 2023, Dreambig# (D-Digitalisation, R-Robotics, E-Engineering, A-Advanced Manufacturing, M-Materials) inspires young people, aged 15-17, to explore advanced manufacturing careers. Following the success of the pilot, the programme has now expanded to include company visits (immersive week) and a school-based STEM learning experiences embedded into the transition year curriculum. Through this unique approach, students discover the impact local manufacturing businesses have on a global stage, the products they create and get to know the innovative people in these organisations. The programme is driven by 15 regional based manufacturing companies, four regional county councils, Technological University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus and Irish Manufacturing Research. We will engage over 5000 students in the Midlands over three year period. The focus on conscious gender bias, value-driven innovation, story-telling and collaboration has made the programme particularly appealing to young girls - a trend all stakeholders are focused on and keen to support. This great news also follows the announcement that Dreambig was published on the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform good practice database: https://lnkd.in/erD9fSZ6 We’re looking forward to celebrating at the Women in STEM Awards on October 24th at the Mansion House, with huge thanks to our sponsors PepsiCo, Fidelity Insurance, and Business Post for their incredible support! #Dreambig #WomenInSTEM #STEMAwards #ATIMCluster #STEMFuture #Manufacturing #PepsiCo #FidelityInsurance #BusinessPost Technological University of the Shannon, Rónán Dunbar, Clodagh Reid, Westmeath County Council, Offaly County Council, Longford County Council, Laois County Council, Writech Ltd, TEG Ireland, Mergon Group, Robotics and Drives, Decotek Automotive, Abbott, Avery Dennison, N&E Precision Engineering, Panelto Foods, Kirby Group Engineering, Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies, CJ Sheeran Timber Packaging & Pallets, Applied Concepts Ltd., Grant Engineering ULC, Christine Collins, Ray Bell, @gerry mccormack, Antoinette Brennan, Enterprise Ireland, Gillian Slattery, John Hobbs, TCI Network, European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), European Clusters Alliance, Grace Aungier

The ResC4EU Consortium has met for the first time ever for the Project Kick-Off in the historic Bremen Cotton Exchange, a 150-year-old landmark for global cotton trade, jointly hosted by local consortium partners, the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) and the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany e.V. (MCN). At the first day, partners have aligned planned activities for the coming months, starting with an assessment of the needs, risks, disruptions, challenges, and opportunities for SMEs. On the second day, the ResC4EU Consortium was invited by MCN (Bremen) for a special visit to the Bremer Town Hall (UNESCO World Heritage site) and later on to visit the leading-edge Center for Eco-efficient Materials and Technologies (ECOMAT) for lightweight constructions “Made in Bremen”. At ECOMAT, the consortium met further companies and regional development agencies with presentations from Bremen Invest from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ports and Transport, discussing Bremen’s role as an international hub for transport and logistics, ECOMAT, Bremen OHB Digital Services GmbH on IT security and software development – a company of the European space and technology group OHB headquartered in Bremen, and the Transfer Center for Optimised, Assisted, highly- automated and Autonomous Systems (TOPAS).
