👏 From Housewife to Entrepreneur: Mamta's Inspiring Journey Ms. Mamta, a woman from Kalahandi, Odisha, a member of Adarsh Dharmagarh Women Farmers Services Producer Company, has defied societal expectations and transformed her life through entrepreneurship and community leadership. After years of traditional domestic roles, Mamta joined Women's Farmers Producer Company and participated in the Women Entrepreneurship Program (WEP). These experiences empowered her to break free from societal constraints and pursue her own aspirations. ✅ Overcoming societal barriers: Mamta faced initial resistance from her family but persevered, gaining their support and respect through her accomplishments. ✅ Entrepreneurship: She has successfully set up multiple businesses, including poultry farming and aquaculture ✅ Community leadership: Mamta serves as the President of her SHG group and has led campaigns to improve her community, such as eradicating liquor sales. ✅ Financial independence: Her entrepreneurial endeavors have provided her with financial security and empowered her to make independent decisions. From Conventional to Agroecological: Dankur Padmamma's Journey to Sustainable Farming Ms. Dankur Padmamma, a red gram farmer from Telkulkod village, Kodangal, Vikarabad Dt, Telangana, India, a member of Kodangal Women Farmers Services Producer Company has embraced a transformative path towards sustainable agriculture. By transitioning from conventional to agroecological practices, she has not only improved her land's health but also reduced the input expenses. With the support of Access Livelihoods and CGI, she started preparing natural inputs on the farm reducing her reliance on harmful chemicals. This shift has led to significant cost savings and improved soil quality. ✅ 40% of input costs has been reduced ✅ Agroecological practices have revitalized her land, enhancing its productivity and resilience. ✅ By adopting intercropping and natural pest management, she has seen a boost in her agricultural earnings. Starting as a member, she quickly rose to the position of Board of Director of KWFSPC, taking on significant decision-making responsibilities. Narasamma's leadership has been instrumental in: ✅ Improving market access ✅ Ensuring quality of the produce ✅ Promoting transparency Despite facing setbacks, such as market fluctuations and loan defaults, Narasamma persevered.
