Here is our #AnnualReport 2023-24 Having crossed 3 decades of enabling rural communities to prosper, we feel that much of our work is undergoing a ‘Tipping Point’ - expanding, deepening, catalyzing and ‘spreading like wildfire.’ In this year’s Annual Report, we capture and share the remarkable stories of how ordinary people – enabled with the right skills and guidance – have chipped away, and over time enacted incredible change in their families, businesses and communities. Enabling People and Prosperity
About us
Ambuja Foundation is an independent, pan-India development organization, committed to generating prosperous rural communities. We believe in the vast, untapped potential of rural communities and the unstoppable power of the people that live there. With investments in water, agriculture, skills, women, health and education, we enable ‘livelihoods’ as a pathway to unleashing that potential. Partnering with like-minded corporates, Governments and others, we work collaboratively with communities to solve pressing community problems – empowering local people to be the catalysts and drivers of change. And over almost 3 decades of work, we have seen a complete transformation in the remote geographies in which we work. We are committed to expanding our footprint and impact of our work even further, through partnerships – building many more sustainable, prosperous rural communities, and revitalising rural India as the backbone of this country.

#voicesfromthefield Santosh Devi from #Rajasthan is nothing short of an inspiration. Today she is a progressive #womanfarmer, but just 4 years ago her life used to revolve around the house - cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids and animals. Watching from the sidelines, she saw the family farm struggle due to a lack of #water - only having enough to flood irrigate 20 bigha of land. One day, Santosh attended an #AmbujaFoundation training on the power of #Microirrigation, and she introduced the concept to the family - and things would never be the same again! She drove the setup of micro irrigation on 40 bigha of land, also building a #farmpond and investing in a #polyhouse to bolster income. Today Santosh calls the shots, and as the primary decision maker for the farm, she has doubled the household income, built a pucca house for her family, and is sending her kids to college. As a bold and innovative farmer, Santosh is a role model in her community - motivating other farmers to install microirrigation and transform the fortunes of their farm. Manoj Agarwal Sachin Roy

#AmbujaFoundation's middle to senior leaders came together for an Annual Reflection Meet to deliberate on the year gone by and consolidate on strategy. "It is important to come together to deliberate on the right ethos for social development and reflect on our values. As leaders of #CSRImplementation, it is our responsibility to ensure that we follow the right practices not just for our programmes but are compliant and transparent in the work we do on behalf of our partners," said Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation. The leaders will further disseminate the strategic decisions taken to the rest of the team to forge ahead into another successful year of quality implementation. #JoyofGivingWeek Extended: We Appreciate Your Support! Meet Hardeep Singh. Hardeep's parents reached out to Ambuja Manovikas Kendra after noticing developmental delays and poor nutrition. At AMK apart from basic education and therapy, he received skill training in artificial jewelry and rakhi making, unlocking his potential for skill development and empowerment. Today, Hardeep has created and sold over 40,000 rakhis, earning a decent profit that enables him to be independent, engaged, and productive. There are many more students like Hardeep who aspire to receive training and become self-sufficient. Here’s how you can help: Cost for training one youth for 6 months: Rs. 35,000 Cost for training for 3 months: Rs. 15,500 Cost for training for 1 month: Rs. 6,000 Partly supporting skill training: Rs. 1500 With your help, we can provide training that not only develops their talents but also equips them for a brighter, more self-reliant future. #WorldCottonDay #Cotton is not just a fabric; it is a lifeline for millions across the globe. Renowned for its comfort, breathability, and durability, cotton’s significance extends far beyond the realm of fashion. This natural fibre supports approximately 32 million growers, nearly half of whom are women, and positively impacts over 100 million families across 80 countries on five continents. However despite its importance, cotton's share of the global fibre market has dwindled to 25% - overshadowed by synthetic fibres (made from fossil fuels), which now dominate at 75%. This shift has implications not only for the economy but also for the environment and social equity. Whilst cotton has had a bad rap over the years due to high water consumption, pesticide use and issues related to fair wages and working conditions, change is underway. And #AmbujaFoundation – as a proud affiliate of Better Cotton – is leading the charge in India: promoting sustainable cotton production, enhancing farmer livelihoods and protecting the environment in the process. #joyofgivingweek #DaanUtsav Despite the many challenges that restrict the full and equal participation of people with disabilities, at #AmbujaFoundation we have full faith in their abilities. Many differently-abled individuals have remarkable untapped talents that just need the right opportunities and platforms to flourish. Thanks to the Ambuja Manovikas Kendra's Skill Development & Rehabilitation Centre, youth with special needs are standing on their own two feet and thriving - making artificial jewellery, crafts, rakhis, diyas and other decorative pottery - and earning sustainable livelihoods along the way. This #daanutsav we need your support to train more students to re-define pathways for special needs adults - making them proud breadwinners for their families & enabling them to have an independent standing in the community. How You Can Help: Cost for training one youth for 6 months: Rs. 35,000 Cost for training for 3 months: Rs. 15,500 Cost for training for 1 month: Rs. 6,000 Partly supporting skill training : Rs. 1500 With your help, we can provide training that not only develops their talents but also equips them for a brighter, more self-reliant future. #Ambujaforwater When #AmbujaFoundation, Ashok Leyland and Hinduja Foundation commenced work on #water in 5 villages of Alwar, Rajasthan, there was a desperate need to involve local women. 6 women volunteers took on the role of becoming #SujalJankars - going door to door to promote the construction of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems and generating awareness on how to conduct a water quality test at a household level. Before long, a full-fledged women's movement had begun as the Sujal Jankar concept took off and spread to 12 other villages. Today, Rajasthan has 450 Sujal Jankars and 23 Sujal Groups who are transforming the water scenario across 20 villages. #Ambujafoundation's ‘After School Program’ - dedicated to fostering athletic talent in #ruralcommunities - is producing remarkable outcomes, with seven students from schools in #Chandrapur qualifying for the upcoming state-level athletics competition in #Pune. These athletes were part of a team of 17 students who competed in the district-level athletics competition, participating in events such as shot put, high jump, long jump, and javelin throw. Out of the 17 students, 12 secured top positions - even clinching the top two spots in some events. The 'After School Program' is part of a larger sports promotion initiative at #AmbujaFoundation promoted schools which uses sport as a powerful vehicle to engage children, promote healthy bodies and minds, improve school attendance rates, and foster enhanced discipline, focus and school spirit. #qualityeducation #sportspromotion shubhangi kulkarni
