Girls in #STEM Shaping Tomorrow’s #Tech! At the recent #Girls in #ICT event, Ericsson joined forces with the American India Foundation Trust to inspire the #nextgeneration of #female tech leaders. The event, attended by 41 participants, including 25 bright #girls from Jainmati Inter College, #Ghaziabad, offered these young #women a glimpse into the transformative power of #technology and the limitless potential of careers in ICT (Information and Communications Technology). The girls learned how ICT, a driving force behind global change, opens doors to 21st-century opportunities. From understanding the complexities of #4G and #5G networks to delving into #digitalskills, they discovered how technology is reshaping industries and societies worldwide. #Careerguidance sessions and insights from Ericsson’s workforce provided a clear path into STEM fields like #programming, #cybersecurity, and #datascience—crucial to personal and #economicgrowth. Through AIFT’s Digital Equalizer (#DE) Program, supported by Ericsson, efforts to bridge the digital divide are well underway. Operating in 50 schools across Ghaziabad, #GautamBuddhaNagar, and #Hapur, the program reaches 12,500 #students and 250 #teachers, with a sharp focus on boosting girls’ participation in STEM. By providing cutting-edge STEM learning and teacher training in techno-pedagogy, DE ensures that girls gain essential #digitalliteracy and life skills. As these young women learn to navigate the digital world, they’re not just participants in a program—they’re future leaders, innovators, and tech disruptors, helping break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. Together, Ericsson and AIFT are ensuring that every girl has access to high-quality #education and the tools she needs to thrive in a rapidly globalizing world. #GirlsInICT #WomenInTech #IndiaTech #India #SDG4 #SDG5 #EdTech Mayank Singh Saumya Sandilya Abhishek Kumar Madhukar Anand Vikram Bishnoi Vinod Yadav Preeti Judani Niharika Sharma Midhat Imteyaz Tanushree Kanojia Mathew Joseph Kamesh Sanghi Kavita Srivastava Ashish Chaudhary Manisha Tripathi

"To teach is to learn twice." – Joseph Joubert On this #InternationalDayfortheEradicationofPoverty, let’s remember that #teachers are superheroes in disguise—capable of fighting #poverty armed only with chalk and creativity! At #AIFT, we know that each additional year of #schooling can increase a person’s #income by up to 10%. So, what’s the secret sauce to this empowerment? #Investing in our #educators! Recently, we partnered with Covestro for a two-day Project STEMpowering (#DigitalEqualizer) workshop, training 60 dedicated teachers, in #Bulandshahr, #UttarPradesh. Our mission was clear: equip teachers with effective methodologies to seamlessly integrate #technology, promote #STEMeducation, and cultivate #criticalthinking, and #collaboration, to help prepare students for tomorrow's challenges. The workshop introduced dynamic approaches, including the #DE Way of Teaching (DEWoT) to accommodate diverse learning styles, handing them advanced #STEM tools to transform classrooms into epicenters of critical thinking (and maybe even a bit of chaos). These educators are now ready to inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers. Let’s face it—when teachers succeed, everyone wins! #STEMpowering #TeacherTraining #21stCenturySkills #SDG4 #SDG5 #AIFImpact #AmericanIndiaFoundation Samagra Shiksha, Secondary Uttar Pradesh Mathew Joseph Kamesh Sanghi Manisha Tripathi Kavita Srivastava Ashish Chaudhary Nikhil Kumar Srivastava

Imagine the transformative power of #rural women generating their own income independently. It’s a game-changer. Financial independence triggers far-reaching changes for them, their families, and communities. It fuels their #agency, allowing them to assert their #rights, make important household #decisions, and pursue their #dreams with confidence. This empowerment elevates their social standing, drives lasting #community growth, and breaks the cycle of #intergenerationalpoverty. On this #InternationalDayofRuralWomen, we’re thrilled to launch Project WE-LIVES (Women Empowerment through Livelihood Improvement and Value Chain Enhancement) in #Sehore! AIFT in partnership with SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India), aims to empower 800 women in #Sehore and #Ashoknagar by providing them with market-aligned skills and value chain linkages for organic soaps, millet-based bakery products, spices, garments, and chanderi textiles. Using #AIFT’s unique entrepreneurship assessment tool, the program will deliver a tailored support aligned with each woman’s strengths and ambitions, further training them to lead their industry specific supply chains and produce high-quality goods efficiently. Over the next two years, this initiative will create an ecosystem of inclusive #buyers and #sellers, helping these women step up as leaders in their industries. Building on the success of AIFT’s Market Aligned Skills Training (#MAST) program, which has uplifted over 450,000 #women across #India, we can’t wait to see the positive changes Project WE-LIVES will bring! #SustainableLivelihoods #entrepreneurship #WomenEmpowerment #VocalForLocal #EconomicEmpowerment #SmallBusinesses #Financialinclusion Shriram Meena (S R Meena) saurabh bajpai Mayank Prakash Bandana Rai Kavita Srivastava Ashish Chaudhary Dr. Anand Shukla Dr Shilpa Jain

"There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women." – Kofi Annan This #InternationalDayoftheGirl, we celebrate the immense potential of #girls and their crucial role in building human capital. Educating girls isn’t just about individual empowerment, but uplifting entire communities and driving #sustainabledevelopment. Girls who are educated, invest in their families, break intergenerational cycles of #poverty, and contribute to stronger #economies. #AIFT is proud to align with the theme ‘Girls’ Vision for the Future,’ championing the bold dreams of young #women and supporting their journey by improving access to the resources, #skills, and rights they deserve. But, the reality is stark: nearly one in four #adolescentgirls—almost twice the rate of boys—are still out of #school. This profoundly impacts their future, limiting their choices and opportunities. That’s where AIFT’s Digital Equalizer (#DE) program comes in, breaking these barriers. Through the use of #technology, we are empowering girls in #governmentschools to stay in education, equipping them with future-ready #skills through techno pedagogy and #STEM methods. The program not only motivates girls to dream big but also enhances #teachers’ capacities, improving learning outcomes. One such inspiring student is Archana Nishad—a sensational young girl who refused to back down. She went from the brink of dropping out of school to dreaming big in STEM and representing her state on the national stage. Curious about her inspiring journey? Join us and take a look at this future Civil Engineer! #DayofTheGirl #OurEqualFuture #HappyGirlChildDay2024 #DigitalGenerationOurGeneration #sdg4 #sdg5

"You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf." – Jon Kabat-Zinn This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let's reflect on the profound impact of mental health in the workplace and some common myths around it. For each individual, mental well-being forms the foundation of #productivity, #happiness, and personal fulfilment. We spend most of our waking hours at work, and when #mentalhealth struggles go unaddressed, they chip away at our confidence, focus, and sense of purpose. It’s okay to not be okay, but it’s crucial to seek help, build resilience, and embrace support when needed. However, mental health is not just an individual concern—it’s crucial to organizational success. Poor mental health costs the global #economy over $1 trillion annually in lost productivity due to absenteeism and presenteeism. Prioritizing mental health isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s smart #business. With this year’s theme, "It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace," let's create and celebrate #safeworkplaces that foster open dialogue about mental health and empower #employees to feel valued, safe, and supported, creating a culture where mental well-being is prioritized for everyone. #MentalHealthMatters #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthAtWork #OnMyMind #WorldMentalHealthDay2024

Despite the challenges Ruksina faced in Nuh—caring for five #children, her mother-in-law, and a husband battling alcoholism—she refused to let her circumstances define her. Instead, she found strength in opportunity. Through AIFT's Self-Employment Tailor Skilling Project, part of the Market Aligned Skills Training (#MAST) initiative, supported by the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (#IRFC) and the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation(#NBCFDC), Ruksina discovered a new path. She quickly mastered stitching and tailoring, recognizing the demand for salwar suits in her community. What began as small neighborhood orders soon grew into larger requests from local vendors. Her new skills not only made her the breadwinner for her family but also ensured her children stayed in school. With the project’s #marketlinkage support, her business thrived, and so did her ambitions. Now, Ruksina dreams of expanding her operations with a #Juki machine and turning her home into a stitching center to empower other women. Through this transformative project, 500 women in #Nuh and #Haridwar have mastered #tailoring #skills, with 380 already launching their own businesses and earning through work orders received during training— with the "earn while you learn" model in action. Ruksina’s story is just the beginning—many more are crafting their way to a brighter future. Stay tuned! #SkillDevelopment #TrainingForSuccess #SelfEmployment #Livelihoods #AIFImpact #AmericanIndiaFoundationTrust ##SustainableLivelihoods #WomenEmpowerment Manisha Tripathi Bandana Rai Jitendra Rawat

What unites 925 beneficiaries, 274 dedicated frontline workers, and 48 villages across Haridwar this #PoshanMaah? It’s the power of #collaboration and the drive to fight #malnutrition! This September, as part of #PoshanMaah – an initiative of the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of Women and Child Development, AIFT’s #MANSI equipped hundreds of ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers with anemia prevention and sustainable nutrition practices. These health warriors led the charge in remote villages, guiding families to grow home-to-kitchen gardens using locally sourced, nutrient-rich foods. Their vibrant Poshan Rangolis weren’t just art—they became practical learning tools, inspiring families to adopt healthier diets for children and mothers alike. And that’s not all! Personalized counseling for mothers on breastfeeding and nutrition further empowered communities to combat malnutrition through collaborative, real-world solutions. These efforts, alongside the tireless work of frontline health workers, have amplified #PoshanMaah2024, providing participants with the knowledge and tools they need to nurture #health, #wellness, and immunity to #disease and malnutrition. In #Haridwar, these initiatives are part of AIFT’s ongoing mission to reshape maternal and child health. Since 2015, AIFT’s health programs have impacted 574,139 lives and trained over 1,270 healthcare workers. #HealthForAll #NutritiousDietsForEveryone #EverydayHealth #PoshanSePoshitBharat #PublicHealth

On the 155th Gandhi Jayanti, AIFT takes inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s belief in #Sarvodaya—the upliftment of all—by focusing on empowering India’s most #marginalized communities. In line with his vision of self-reliance and dignity for every individual, AIFT’s work in poverty alleviation mirrors Gandhi’s ideals, through initiatives that provide #women, #youth, and differently-abled individuals the #skills and #opportunities to break free from the cycle of #poverty; ensure #health equity for disenfranchised populations, and democratize #education through technology. Today, we honor Gandhi’s legacy—not just in words, but in action by building together a #nation where learning, dignity, and health are universal. #GandhiJayanti #EmpowerTheFuture #EducationForAll #SustainableLivelihoods #HealthForAll #MahatmaGandhi #NonViolence

Can a single initiative transform an entire community’s #education system? With 506,340 #children and 29,700 community members impacted, the answer is a resounding yes! Today, as HDFC Bank and American India Foundation proudly handed over their coveted Learning Resource Centers (#LRCs) in #Odisha, to the local community and administration, they also handed over the baton of educational #innovation, dignity, and #empowerment. Presided over by Hon’ble Shri kanak vardhan singh deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, the handover highlights the program’s deep commitment to building resilient, #sustainable, and scalable systems that engineer deeply entrenched #communityownership. These 72 LRCs, established under the Learning Continuum Program (#LCP) supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan and AIFT’s Learning and Migration Program (#LAMP), breathed new life into 4200+ schools in #Odisha and #Jharkhand, improving access and equity for rural #students. And the cascading impact is profound. In partnership with the government of Odisha and Jharkhand, 18 Block Resource Centers (#BRCs) have been set up to focus on #teacher training and remedial education; 11,140 teachers have been trained to deliver personalized instruction and improve grade-level competencies; and average scores in Grades 6-8 have risen by 36 percentage points in #Odia, 44 in #Science, and 35 in #Mathematics (Grade 6), proving the program’s effectiveness in enhancing learning outcomes. Today, when the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Odisha, said “Sometimes I wish I were a child and I want to come to the school and study”, he echoed all our collective emotions. That is the legacy of this partnership, and we have HDFC Bank to thank for it. #EducationForAll #STEMEducation #LAMP #HDFCSupport #SDG4 #SDG5 #AIFImpact #AmericanIndiaFoundationTrust #Nuapada #Balangir Harit Talwar Nusrat Pathan Mathew Joseph Swaroop Sharma Ritesh Sinha Amit Shekhar Chandan Kumar Nayak Kamesh Sanghi Smruti Das Vinod xavier Kavita Srivastava Ashish Chaudhary Barun Kumar
