Healthy energy systems are secure, affordable, and environmentally sustainable, showing a carefully managed balanced Trilemma between these three dimensions. Maintaining this balance between equally critical priorities in the context of rapid energy transition is both challenging, and as recent shocks to the world energy system have demonstrated, key to advancing clean and inclusive energy transitions. For more than 15 years, our World Energy Trilemma Framework has been used to track and measure integrated energy system performance, and enable energy leaders to manage these competing demands, in more than 120 countries.
