World Energy Council India (WEC India) in collaboration with the International Energy Agency (IEA) successfully organized a dynamic workshop on ‘Energy Data and Policy Training’ from June 18-20, 2024 at the Power Management Institute (PMI), Noida. The event kicked off with a keynote address by Mr. Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC & Secretary General WEC India, highlighting the critical need for continuous capacity building in energy data. Mr. Tim Gould, Chief Economist at IEA, shared his insights with the participants via a video message. The workshop was attended by around 50 professionals from 21 entities, including various Ministries, Government bodies, and major players across the energy sector. Expert faculty from IEA, led by Dr. Roberta Quadrelli, Mr. Steve Gervais, Mr. Thomas Spencer, and Mr. Alay Patel, conducted the workshop. Additionally, esteemed speakers from NITI Aayog, MOSPI, BEE, PPAC, CEA, MNRE, DST, NTPC Limited, and EPE-Brazil enriched the sessions with their valuable contributions.
