"AI Meets Space: Leveraging AI & Satellites for a Smarter Indonesia" January marks a new beginning, and this year started with an important milestone. We were grateful to take part in the KADIN CEO Forum in New Delhi on January 25, 2025, which took place alongside the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Narendra Modi—a key moment in strengthening Indonesia-India partnerships in defense, trade, and technology. At this forum, Nodeflux and XDLINX Space Labs signed an MoU to collaborate on LEO ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) satellites. By bringing together Vision AI and space technology, this collaboration is set to enhance geospatial intelligence for disaster response, food security, maritime surveillance, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure planning. As an archipelagic nation, Indonesia faces unique challenges in managing its vast land and maritime territories. With the right technology, we can improve real-time monitoring and decision-making, helping to build a more resilient, secure, and sustainable future. A meaningful start to the year—looking forward to learning, growing, and collaborating in the months ahead. #nodeflux #xdlinx #AI #Satellite #Indonesia #India #SpaceTech #LEOSatellite #Collaboration

Our Sr. VP Dr. Pramod Konugurthi addressing the deligates of DEFSAT25 on maritime strategies.
Day 01 Highlights from #Defsat2025! 💥 #Food for #Thought! 💥 🌌 Insights from the session on "Securing Turbulent Waters: Space Powered Maritime Strategies" "Modernising Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) through space technology is vital for India, with the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) being a principal area of focus. Spanning a vast region from the Gulf of Aden to the Straits of Malacca, covering a radius of 1,400 km, MDA is crucial for ensuring the security and stability of this strategically significant maritime expanse." ~ Vice Admiral Shekhar Sinha, PVSM, AVSM, NM, & Bar ADC (Retd.) "The nature of security is evolving rapidly, shifting from traditional to non-traditional threats such as IUU fishing, contraband, trafficking, and piracy. According to the FAO, 20% of global fish catch is linked to IUU fishing. Many small islands also face existential threats from rising sea levels and ocean acidification. Historically, satellites were used primarily for position, navigation, and tracking; however, GPS signals are vulnerable to jamming. In response, India is advancing in quantum communication technology, paving the way for more secure and resilient space-based systems." ~ Commodore Anil Jai Singh (Retd), Vice President, Indian Maritime Foundation "Seventy percent of the Earth is covered with water, and only space-based technology can effectively monitor this vast expanse. Without it, monitoring such a large area would be nearly impossible. However, information extraction remains a significant challenge, with only 0.01% of the data being truly useful. Generating vital, actionable information is crucial, given the overwhelming volume of data that needs to be processed and analysed." ~ Mr PRAMOD KUMAR KONUGURTHI, Sr VP, Space and Data Engineering, XDLINX Space Labs "Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) is crucial in addressing critical security issues, such as the transfer of nuclear technology between North Korea and Pakistan, as well as threats like AIS spoofing. Space technologies, including RF detectors and optical imaging, can detect AIS spoofing and track vessels even when AIS is turned off. These advanced technologies play a key role in vessel classification, significantly aiding in the detection and prevention of illicit activities at sea." ~ Mr G. Satish Raju, Senior Manager Industry Accounts, APAC , Planet "A key challenge in the maritime domain is the time it takes to transfer critical data back to Earth stations, ranging from 4 minutes to 6 hours, which hampers maritime and defence capabilities. ReOrbit addresses this challenge through inter-satellite orbit communication, and by redesigning software, has reduced manufacturing time from 5 and a half years to just 30 months, significantly enhancing the speed and efficiency of data transfer." ~ Mr Srinath Logasubramanian, VP - Sales, ReOrbit
