Despite facing significant challenges, including a steering system failure that required a stopover in Ushuaïa for repairs, Yannick has demonstrated remarkable resilience. He reports that our Solbian solar panels have been performing flawlessly, providing the energy needed to power his boat and continue the adventure outside of the race. Congratulations to Nicolas Lunven on his 6th place in the Vendée Globe 🎉 After 75 days, 7 hours and 49 minutes of racing, Nicolas crossed the finish line on Friday January 24 aboard Holcim-PRB. Equipped with our Solbian SP series solar panels, he demonstrated exceptional skill and endurance throughout this grueling solo round-the-world race. Notably, he set a new 24-hour solo monohull distance record, covering 546.60 nautical miles (1,012.30 km) in just one day. Solbian Energie Alternative Srl has entered the operational phase of the WHISPER project. By mid-2025, more than 200 kWp of photovoltaic capacity will be installed to support the decarbonization of marine transportation. This ambitious installation will feature approximately 1400 PV modules mounted on specially designed structures engineered to endure the harshest marine conditions. The solar modules, produced by Solbian, incorporate high-efficiency monocrystalline cells enhanced with their patented double metallic grid system. The front grid optimizes current harvesting, while the rear grid provides exceptional mechanical support. Together, these grids create a robust double shield, ensuring resistance to cracks and bending—critical for maritime applications.

We are proud to support several remarkable sailors and have been closely following their journey around the globe. Here are some of the latest updates: 💔 Yannick Bestaven was forced to withdraw from the Vendée Globe 2024 due to a major breakdown in the steering system of his IMOCA Maître CoQ V on December 27th. Pip Hare also had to abandon the race on December 16th after experiencing a devastating mast shatter. 🛠️ Boris Herrmann faced a critical moment when the J2 hook broke, forcing him to perform a challenging mast climb. Demostrating resilience and determination, he successfully completed the necessary repairs to continue the race. He is currently running in 10th place. 🏆Charlie Dalin emerged victorious, completing the race in a record-breaking time of 64 days, 19 hours, 22 minutes, and 49 seconds. Yoann Richomme secured second place, while Sébastien Simon, whose boat features Solbian solar panels powered by Maxeon Solar Technologies's advanced solar cells, currently holds third position.
