Our growth ambitions are taking industry standards to another dimension. These four new Super Post Panamax cranes, being delivered to APM Terminals Elizabeth, at the Port of New York & New Jersey, are just one manifestation of our goal to lift the standards of efficiency throughout our 60 terminals.       The cranes, due to arrive early November, are part of a major upgrade at APM Terminals Elizabeth, and provide our customers with the assurance that we can handle even the very largest of container vessels. Featuring advanced control systems and enhanced lifting capabilities, they'll pair nicely with the top-tier expertise of our talented US teams.       Designed with a 23-container outreach, the new cranes are capable of accommodating both Neo-Panamax and Ultra-Large Container Vessels (ULCVs) with capacities of up to 18,000 twenty-foot-equivalent containers (TEUs) and mark the culmination of crane orders made as part of a USD200M+ expansion project, initiated in 2018.     Said Henrik Kristensen, APM Terminals Managing Director Americas, “The arrival of another batch of the Super Post Panamax cranes is exciting news, and just the latest in the significant investment upgrade which boosts our ability to serve our customers and accelerate their supply chains.”  #Growth #APMTerminalsElizabeth #Supplychains

In a meeting called by the World Economic Forum in Gothenburg, Sweden on Monday, APM Terminals Chief Executive Officer, Keith Svendsen, addressed the need to ‘kick-start’ the eco-system in ports to enable the usage of renewable energy sources.     Highlighting APM Terminals’ achievement of operating on 40% renewable energy, he reiterated the company's goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030 – an industry-leading goal. However, he said that achieving end to end decarbonised supply chains must be a collective effort, which “requires the entire industry to move forward together.” Read more: https://bit.ly/3XzKQpg #Decarbonisation #PortTerminals #Partnership #ZEPA

Even as it celebrates 20 years of operations this week, Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd. [APM Terminal Mumbai] – also known as APM Terminals Mumbai – will continue to strive to be the country's most efficient, reliable, and safe operator, according to APM Terminals Chief Executive Asia and Middle East, Jonathan R. Goldner.  Attending celebrations of the anniversary in Mumbai, where he was joined by Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Chairman of JNPA- Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority; and the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr Nabil Taouati, as well as Shri Rajiv Jalota, Chairman of Indian Port Association, and others, Goldner said that operating a concession in any country is “a huge responsibility, and one we take very seriously at APM Terminals.”   Speaking for A.P. Moller - Maersk, he said he, and the entire group, were “humbled and grateful” to be part of the amazing logistics story in Mumbai and the region as a whole. As well as expressing pride in GTI's officially-recognised position as the most efficient terminal in the port, Goldner said he was particularly proud of the terminals’ lasting positive impact on the communities in which it plays a vital role. “We will continue to aspire to be a preferred partner for India, for its future investment in ports and the supply chain,” he said.   #GTI #20years #celebrations #safety #reliability

The inauguration of APM Terminals’ USD 115 million investment in the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) makes the Onne, River State terminal one of the most digitally advanced in APM Terminals’ global portfolio. The major investment, initiated in 2021, is an indication of the company's commitment to economic growth in West Africa, according to Olaf Gelhausen, APM Terminals’ Chief Operating Officer. “With this expansion, Onne is capable of much larger volumes going forward. The growing capacity of the terminal reflects the potential, and the unlimited opportunities ahead for Nigeria,” he told onlookers at the event, broadcast live on YouTube. The upgrade encompasses a wide-ranging transformation, including extensive yard expansion, state-of-the-art equipment acquisition, an innovative auto gate system, an advanced data centre, and a modern office complex. All of which will contribute to stronger partnership with the Nigerian Government, to setting new benchmarks in customer service delivery and to lifting WACT’s operational efficiency to a new standard. One of our foremost objectives as a company is to reduce port vessel time – a goal which cuts costs for our customers, ramps up our already high efficiency standards – and contributes to our industry-leading decarbonisation goals by reducing carbon emissions in ports. It’s an objective that we are achieving with a highly motivated, expert global team – as in the case of APM Terminals Poti where a massive 15-hour reduction in port stay was achieved for one customer, and potentially many more, through co-creation and collaboration. Find out how we did it here: https://bit.ly/4gc8hfK

There was very little bounce left in the destitute poodle when she was found wandering in our terminal in Costa Rica. The young dog was emaciated, in pain, thirsty and hungry. Busy terminals are no place for vulnerable animals. But, despite this, 'Colochos' – or Curly – as she became known, could not have come to a better place in her hour of need. The APM Terminals Moin environmental team knew she needed more than a meal and a bath. According to the veterinarian on site, she was suffering from a ruptured trachea and a fractured spine. Our team ensured she received medical attention, and found her a forever family. Curly is just one of the many animals, domestic and wild, that our teams care for as part of our commitment to the environment, and to lifting the standards of responsibility for the people and animals with whom we strive to be a good neighbour. #apmterminalsmoin #Liftingstandards #goodneighbours

“Business as usual” – that was the message from APM Terminals’ Pier 400 Los Angeles when the terminal received a visit from a revolutionary vessel, the Alette Maersk, which. when running on green methanol, saves up to approximately 280 tons of CO2 per day compared to a sister vessel sailing on heavy fuels. The “usual” part is because the team at Pier 400 has long moved cargo with a lower greenhouse emissions footprint than the conventional approach. Comparing data from 2019 to last year, APM Terminals Pier 400 has achieved an almost 50% reduction in air pollutants and greenhouse gases produced by conventional container handling equipment – which is good news for the environment, and particularly for communities in the surrounding area. This reinforces the positive at-sea efforts of APM Terminals’ customers, including A.P. Moller - Maersk. “Pier 400 is one of the most environmentally advanced terminals in the United States,” said APM Terminals Pier 400 Managing Director, Jon Poelma. “We are on track to achieve zero emissions in our operations ahead of the 2030 deadlines set forth in the Clean Air Action Plan.” #alettemaersk #energytransition #decarbonisation

APM Terminals CEO, Keith Svendsen, met with Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman, Admiral Osama Rabie and Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, in Egypt last week following the successful co-creation of quick sail protocols.      The collaboration contributed to a significant reduction in time at port for customer vessels, down by almost 25%. Reducing port time is a key focus for APM Terminals in its drive to lift the standards of efficiency throughout its portfolio.        Svendsen said SCCT was ‘remarkable’ in its ability to enhance customer experience at the terminal – one of the group's eight transhipment hubs. SCCT will play an increasingly important role in net-zero global connectivity.

In all our terminals around the world, we take our responsibilities seriously, continuously lifting the standards of responsibility, including standards of living. This is true not only for people, but for the animals rural communities rely on. Animal health services is a part of APM Terminals Pipavav, India's ‘Pashu Uday’ project to support sustainable livestock development in around 45 local villages surrounding the port. Since 2016, the project has addressed the need for medical care and humane treatment for sheep, goats, horses, cows and buffalo, which in turn benefits the earning capabilities of local families. Thanks to the provision of a mobile veterinarian clinic, health camps, and education, the terminal – up to January of this year – had treated more than 37,864 livestock and vaccinated and dewormed more than one million farm animals. Says Sanjay Singh, HSSE Head at APM Terminals Pipavav, “To ensure sustainability, we will gradually handover to community members through a Charitable Trust that provides local youth with training to make careers from caring for animals, creating entrepreneurial opportunities and rewarding and valuable work.”
