While the spotlight often shines on the players, we would like to turn it on the unsung heroes of sports events - the structural hollow sections (SHS). These vital components ensure the strength, durability, and stunning architecture of the world's most iconic stadia. Our tubes can be found for example in the roof structure, the grandstands or simply as handrails. We're excited to share that our fatigue test database is now available to research institutions worldwide! 🔗 The database is accessible at: https://lnkd.in/ef6gGaAZ 📧 Research institutions can request specific access by contacting Esmaeil Azizi at bauforumstahl e.V.: esmaeil.azizi@bauforumstahl.de 📚 In two DASt / FOSTA / IGF / BMWK research projects conducted by RWTH Aachen University, Institut für Stahlbau (STB) - RWTH Aachen (Markus Feldmann, Dr.-Ing. Helen Bartsch) with the Universität Stuttgart (Ulrike Kuhlmann, Karl Drebenstedt, Gloria Hofmann) and the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) (Thomas Ummenhofer, Benjamin Seyfried), a fatigue test database was developed. This database includes the test data underlying the FAT Classes in the detail catalogue of EN 1993-1-9, as well as our own and new fatigue test series. 🎉 We are thrilled to make our work accessible to the research community and hope for continuous expansion of the database to address future research questions! Via Steelport Maastricht we are collaborating with other manufacturing companies from Maastricht to address the pressing challenge of finding skilled personnel in production, operational, and maintenance roles. The Gemeente Maastricht has taken the initiative to bring these companies together for discussions, and we have collectively recognized that these labor market challenges can be better addressed through collaboration. Over the coming months, the city and the companies will work together to prepare concrete initiatives. This commitment has been formalized with a signed letter of intent. Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence with Van Leeuwen! We are thrilled to congratulate Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group on their centennial anniversary! As part of the celebration, we proudly presented a special tube 300x100x6mm produced in our production plant in Zwijndrecht, featuring a design that includes the skyline of our steel mill in IJmuiden and the Van Leeuwen logo. Jacob Gerkema and Huib Simon were guests at the event for suppliers on behalf of Tubes NL and presented our gift to Van Leeuwen's management.
