Sharing & learning in Maastricht Our new and former Customer Technical Service Engineers met with our Quality Engineer in Maastricht to share experiences. One particular topic: the measuring and tolerances of hollow sections. Today, we had the privilege of hearing from the incredible Lobke Berkhout OLY, who shared her inspiring story with us. Her insights motivated us all to elevate our performance and strive for the next level of excellence. It’s clear that when we collaborate, support each other, and partner with our customers, we can accomplish amazing things.

Stahlbaufachtagung 2025 an der Technische Universität Dresden Vielen Dank an Richard Stroetmann und sein Team. Ich war wieder sehr gerne als #Moderator dabei. Es hat mich sehr gefreut, dass wir für den Auftakt Yannik Sparrer von der Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl gewinnen konnten. Sehr deutlich hat er in seinem Vortrag zur Produktion und zum Einsatz #emissionsarmer #Stähle gezeigt, welche Herausforderungen die #Stahlindustrie aktuell zwischen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Dekarbonisierung zu bewältigen hat. Es ist nur logisch, dass sich in dem stark reglementierten #Baubereich nun der nächste Schritt anschließen muss: Platzierung von #emissionsarmen Grundwerkstoffen in öffentlichen #Ausschreibungen! Weitere beeindruckende Berichte aus der Praxis im #Stahl- und #Verbundbau und viele schöne Hinweise auf #FOSTA-#Forschungsvorhaben im Rahmen von Vorträgen zur neuen Generation der #Eurocodes waren Gegenstand des Tagesprogramms: Stabilitätsnachweise, Brandschutz sowie Vermeidung von Sprödbruch sind nur einige Beispielthemen. Besonders interessant war der Vortrag von Dr.-Ing. Thomas Klähne über die Extradosed-Bridge am Nürnberger Ostkreuz. Ein wirklich beeindruckendes #Ingenieurbauwerk! Vielen Dank auch an Peter Schaumann Bertram Kühn Max Spannaus Martin Mensinger und Dominik Nimführ für die weiteren spannenden Beiträge. Sehr schön auch, dass Dr. Schwuchow vom Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) die Möglichkeit zur baurechtlichen Einordnung der MVV-TB genutzt hat und die Bedeutung dieser Muster-Verwaltungsvorschrift für die Teilnehmenden eingeordnet hat. Übrigens: Die in den Vorträgen genannten Ergebnisse aus #IGF-Projekten wurden aus dem IGF-Förderprogramm des Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz finanziert. 👍 Eine wirklich super Sache, die in diesem Fall nachweislich auf den Ausbau unserer #Infrastruktur einzahlt, junge #Wissenschaftler in ihrer Ausbildung unterstützt und damit auch den Erhalt der #Wertschöpfung in unserem Land stärkt. 👌🏼

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from our Research & Development team in IJmuiden to our Oosterhout site for an engaging technical workshop. Our process and customer technical service engineers and the new business team were keen to get an insight into the latest findings of our researchers who specialise in FEA/FEM technology, material modelling, process improvement, applications or engineering. Various current projects were discussed, such as ▷ Enhancing the mechanical properties of high-strength tubes through process adaptations ▷ Simulation of the rolling process for new tube shapes and 3D scanning ▷ The availability of a new high-strength steel coil grade ▷ Heat emission and flow resistance behavior of our Forcas® tubes ▷ A master thesis on concrete-filled tubes To top it off, our R&D colleagues had the chance to witness our tube production process at the Oosterhout facility - the picture shows them geared up for the site visit. An inspiring exchange of different perspectives between our experts in computational mechanics, rolling technology, civil engineering, customer technical service, product development, sales development and marcom.
