Transaction completed! Hydro Rein now has not only one – but two strong owners 💪💪 Norsk Hydro today announced it has completed the transaction for the sale of 49.9 percent of renewable energy company Hydro Rein to Macquarie Asset Management. This is a complementary partnership between an industry giant and one of the world’s largest green investors. For us in Hydro Rein, it means we get access to capital and competencies to grow profitably at a faster pace. We’re looking forward to beginning the next chapter of Hydro Rein’s growth journey. Hemanshu Gupta manages the development of digital solutions at Hydro Rein, to enhance renewable energy operations and support sustainable industrial practices 👨💻 Hemanshu was born and raised in India and now works at our Oslo office. He has a background as an engineer in the energy sector and as a data scientist working with AI and big data. He is motivated by advancing technological solutions that drive sustainability and contribute to a greener future. Happy #GlobalWindDay! Shout out to all #windpower colleagues around the world 🌍 With his whole career sharply focused on wind power, Gerson Lopes is one of many proud wind ambassadors in Hydro Rein. Today, we celebrate Gerson and everyone everywhere #WorkingInWind 👏👏 Global Wind Day is the annual celebration of wind energy and its role in today's world 🌬 This year puts the spotlight on the people that are part of wind's success story. Gerson grew up in Cape Verde, did his education in Brazil and France, and began his wind power career ten years ago. Now, he lives in Norway and works as a technical manager for Hydro Rein's wind projects. Why does he ❤️ working in wind? Well, as he often says "I am a team person who likes challenges, a perfect combination if you want to make an impact in the green transition". In Europe alone, the wind power industry creates more than 370,000 jobs. Did we mention that wind is an abundant and infinite energy source, and that it provides electricity without burning any fuel or polluting the air? Thank you to everyone working to fight climate change and supporting greener industries 🙏

Yeah! We did it! Hydro Rein Brazil won both the Hydro Energy Performance Award and the Hydro Energy HSE Award for the project execution of the solar projects Mendubim and Boa Sorte 😃😃 Our Brazil team was rightly celebrated at the fantastic Hydro Energy Summit in Oslo this week. This recognition must of course be shared with our competent and engaged partners Scatec ASA, Equinor, Atlas Renewable Energy, Albras and Alunorte 🖐🖐🖐 Congratulations to everyone who contributed to these successful projects!

Happy to announce a new wind power partnership that opens opportunities in northern Sweden! 🤝 Hydro Rein has entered into an agreement with Pajala Allmänning for a large-scale wind power development. Northern Sweden is gaining lots of attention for its role in the green industrial transition. Substantial investments are being made in the production of green steel, batteries and fossil free fertilizers. The transition taking place in this region will significantly increase the demand for renewable power. We're looking forward to close cooperation with Pajala Allmänning going forward! Celebrating another milestone in Hydro Rein! This time in #Sweden with the commissioning of onsite renewable energy production with battery storage systems at Hydro Extrusions' aluminium plants. This ambitious energy project was initiated in 2022. The end goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from the extrusion plants in Vetlanda and Finspång to zero, through reduction of total electricity consumption and production of local renewable energy. The technical solution involves 7 rooftop installations, with a total capacity of 2.1 MWp, a 2 MWp ground-mounted solar PV system and 3 battery storage solutions with a total capacity of 4.5 MW. For this project, we set a firm goal of #NoNetLoss of biodiversity for natural habitats. This will be met, and even exceeded, through measures leading to an increase of biodiversity in the area. #MeetTheTeam! Today: the always optimistic Lisa Läckgren Haukaas 😊 Lisa is working with our Swedish and Danish assets, from early-stage development to operations. Lately, Hydro Rein has developed and acquired a sizable wind and solar project portfolio in the two Scandinavian countries. What motivates you, Lisa? "I'm motivated by the fact that I can contribute with the green transition for industries by developing clean and green power. Another thing that motivates me, is that we aim to remain an owner through the lifetime of our projects, meaning that when developing projects we work with a long-term focus." What makes Hydro Rein different? "Hydro Rein's ambition is to be a long-term owner of the projects, which historically hasn't been a common approach among developers. I think a long term focus is key when working with sustainability and stakeholders in the hosting municipalities."
