  • This World Water Day, we're celebrating Yara Korea's innovative work that's enabling farmers to convert from irrigation to fertigation. 💧   🎯 In Korea, the average age of a farmer is 68 and the availability of labor in agriculture is diminishing. Add this to volatile crop prices, Korean farmers are seeking innovative solutions to improve productivity while minimizing environmental impact. This is where Yara's fertigation solutions can play a crucial role!    🌱 Fertigation is the mix of fertilizer and irrigation that optimizes water and fertilizer use, while also reducing carbon emissions. By converting irrigation to fertigation, fewer labor resources are required, offering a better cost position.   🧑🌾 However, farmers who only use irrigation methods are usually unaware of the benefits associated with converting to fertigation and changing farming practices takes time and effort.   💡 To support farmers in adapting fertigation practices, Yara Korea has developed Crop Total Solutions for precise application in 25 crops and has hosted over 40 farmer seminars. They have also been working with key distribution partners, making it easier and more cost-effective for farmers to transition to fertigation.   Thanks to Yara Korea's innovative approach, fertigation is helping farmers improve productivity, increasing incomes, and contributing to a more resilient and sustainable food system. 👏   Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dW9uMn2v   #WorldWaterDay

Today, we’re sharing Yara’s 2024 results, which highlight the strengths of our core operations, dedicated people, and global presence. The volatility we’ve experienced in recent years reminds us that stability cannot be taken for granted. Yet, it also underscores the adaptability of our people and our organization - rising to the challenge time and again. Last year, we achieved record production performance and an all-time low injury rate, while staying on track to meet our 2025 GHG emission intensity target. These results are a testament to the dedication and resilience of our teams, who’ve excelled despite a rapidly changing global landscape. Looking ahead to 2025, we continue to optimize our operations while positioning ourselves for long-term competitiveness. Yara is uniquely positioned - scaling low-carbon ammonia and playing a key role in decarbonizing agriculture and the food system. However, this transformation cannot happen alone. I encourage policymakers and business leaders to come together, work collaboratively, and build the systems and incentives that will drive this change forward. While we may face challenges ahead, I truly believe the opportunity for collective action is far greater. I’m proud of Yara’s role in this transformation, delivering lasting value to our stakeholders and contributing to a more sustainable future. At Yara Africa & Asia, operational excellence remains a key focus and enables our green transition. 🎯 The team in Ghana led the way in Africa by developing a comprehensive roadmap to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. Through a collaborate effort, the team addressed challenges to bring impactful benefits not only to our customers, but also to colleagues. 🚚 By implementing a digitalised truck queuing and scheduling system, customers can now complete on-time registration and digital inspections, facilitating better delivery and inventory management. 💻 Transitioning to digital systems to reduce manual handling and archiving helped close the gap in efficiency, boosting the team’s own productivity and sustainable growth. 👣 Refining the environmental waste management system, Yara Ghana is minimising impact on the climate and promoting sustainability. Initiatives like these allow us to explore new ways of working, equip us with a strong core as we expand our reach and offering in Africa & Asia! #OperationalExcellence

  • ✨Yara's Women in Agronomy program is making headlines globally!✨ At the start of the year, Women in Agronomy was nominated as "Initiative of the Year" from Women in Food and Agriculture for its impactful work on advancing gender equality in the industry. And now, we're thrilled to share Women in Agronomy has won the award! 🏆 The judges singled out the program for its effortless blend of education, networking, visibility, opportunities, and development of business skills, all while increasing female representation in the sector. They also highlighted that over 75% of participants applied newly acquired skills in their roles, proving the program’s measurable impact. 🎯   In addition to winning the "Initiative of the Year" award, Women in Agronomy was also shortlisted for the "Parity Award" from this year's World 50 Group Impact Awards due to the program's exceptional contributions to advancing gender equality in Yara and beyond. “Both of these nominations reflect the hard work and passion poured into the program. By providing mentorship opportunities, safe discussions for DEI, and recognizing women’s expertise, we’re seeing real change - one that finally acknowledges their contributions in an industry that hasn’t always done so,” says Program Manager Carolina Hernandez Lasso. We're proud to see the impact Women in Agronomy is making globally and congratulate everyone involved for making the program a success! Together, we're empowering women, creating opportunities, and transforming the industry! 👏 #WomenInAgronomy

Today’s broad support from EU Member States for the European Commission’s proposal marks a significant step in ensuring fair competition, reducing external dependencies, and protecting fertilizer production within the EU.   Introducing #tariffs on Russian #fertilizer imports will help create a level playing field for domestic producers, while reinforcing Europe’s strategic autonomy in the agricultural sector.   A robust domestic industry is vital for Europe’s food security and long-term #competitiveness.   We look forward to productive discussions with the European Parliament to finalize a framework that secures Europe’s future.

  • The Northern Pathfinder, a sea vessel transporting CO2 for storage in Norway, docked at Yara's Sluiskil plant in the Netherlands! 🎉   🤝 In 2023, Yara and Northern Lights JV signed the first-ever cross-border commercial agreement for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in operation.    🚢 Through CCS, Yara aims to reduce its annual CO2 emissions by 800,000 tons from the ammonia production at Yara Sluiskil. The CO2 will be liquefied and shipped by Northern Lights from the Netherlands to permanent storage on the Norwegian continental shelf, 2.6 kilometers under the seabed.     🏭 Although operations are planned to start in 2026, the Northern Pathfinder vessel made a stop at Yara's Sluiskil plant on its voyage from Asia to Norway! The vessel is one of four ships to safely transport CO2 from industrial installations to the Northern Lights terminal in Øygarden, Norway.   Join us in celebrating the power of partnership in driving profitable decarbonization and strengthened competitiveness! This milestone proves that CCS is part of the solution in reaching climate targets while kickstarting the market for low-carbon products in Europe. 👏

Geopolitical uncertainty is reshaping global markets, making Europe's industrial competitiveness more critical than ever. Securing affordable energy, enabling businesses to thrive, and strengthening our food system is key to long-term resilience.   In Antwerp, Yara’s CEO Svein Tore Holsether joined 400 business leaders and industry representatives - alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen - to discuss the recently published Clean Industrial Deal.   The message is clear: ambition alone is not enough. Turning commitments into action requires industry and policymakers to work together, to drive real change for a stronger, more competitive, and sustainable Europe.
