Our team had a blast at the recent CCNZ Northland Construction Awards, rubbing shoulders with like-minded individuals, and celebrating the world-class civil mahi being delivered in the region. We were chuffed to take home the 'Innovation Award' for the construction of the NIWA Kingfish RAS facility: New Zealand's first commercial scale, land-based fishery. This was a special project which leaves a great legacy for Northland, and New Zealand, with the capacity to deliver up to 600 tonnes of harvested Haku Kingfish annually. Thanks must go to our team, our clients - Northland Regional Council & NIWA , our various project collaborators, and CCNZ Northland for hosting a brilliant event. Budget 2024 delivered $266 million to keep up the momentum of our upgrades to the Auckland and Wellington metro networks. Everyday many thousands of people use trains to get around the two cities. The track work we are doing helps trains run on time and supports getting more people out of their cars and onto rail.   There was also a $200 million funding top up to continue our progress raising the standard of the national rail network.

Recently, Brent from Attach2 caught up with Liam McCord, our Bay of Plenty Area Manager, and Sam Mitchell, one of our Trade Qualified Foreman, to gain insight into how our teams collaborate to deliver successful projects and outcomes for local communities. Having discussed the topic at length with the team, some clear themes emerged which are eloquently summarised by Brent.👇   "After catching up with Liam and Sam to talk about working on these collaborative projects, it becomes clear that establishing key relationships with others that share a passion for machines, as well as for the communities involved - leads to success. Not only is this success evident in the projects themselves, but on a larger scale - creating lasting impact for the Bay of Plenty locals who can enjoy them for years to come."   You can read the full article via the link below.

Last week we had the privilege of being a part of the Pasifika Navigators of Tomorrow event in Tauranga. The event did a brilliant job of showcasing the many different career paths available to our youth, while also inspiring and arming them with the relevant knowledge to chase their dreams. Danny Kayes and Bay-Leigh Johnson, from our Bay of Plenty team, flew the flag for CB Civil as they shared valuable insights from the world of civil construction with the bright and ambitious students in attendance. Many thanks to Pasifika Navigators of Tomorrow for hosting us, and to the students we had the pleasure of meeting - we cannot wait to witness all of your future successes in our exciting industry!
