We are excited to announce that myAgro has signed a partnership with the Senegalese Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Livestock (MASAE). This collaboration represents a pivotal advancement in our commitment to empowering smallholder farmers throughout Senegal. myAgro operates in 10 regions, impacting over 2,000 villages across the country. Our mission is to enable farmers to invest in high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and tools through our innovative mobile savings model. In conjunction with MASAE, we aim to enhance food sovereignty and inspire youth to engage in agriculture, which is vital for the future of Senegal's farming landscape. This partnership also opens doors to transformative opportunities in agricultural digitalization. It will facilitate easier access to vital information for farmers, enhance agricultural practices via digital platforms, and streamline the value chain, fostering a more modern and interconnected agricultural system. We are enthusiastic about the positive changes this will bring to rural communities and are determined to reach one million smallholder farmers by 2025.

About us
myAgro is an award-winning social enterprise committed to empowering small-scale farmers on every level, from self-financing to agricultural training. We are working with 115,000 farmers and counting in Mali & Senegal. myAgro pioneered the use of mobile layaway as a model for savings layaway that can be adopted by other organizations to serve farmers throughout the world. Smallholder farmers across the globe make up 70% of the world’s poor. Our model has been shown to double farm income and helps farmers move out of poverty. We’ve grown from 240 farmers in 2011 to 115,000+ in 2021 and will continue to scale over the next five years while aiming for our North Star of reaching 1 million smallholder farmers by 2026. We’ve received early recognition for our work by Skoll Foundation, One Acre Fund and Mulago Foundation and received prestigious awards from: Echoing Green Fellowship, Rainer Arnhold Fellows, Draper Richards Kaplan Social Entrepreneurship. Thanks, The Audacious Project for highlighting the importance of supporting women in agriculture. myAgro's mobile layaway model continues to enable women smallholder farmers a way to save in small increments toward the purchase of high-quality inputs, climate-smart agricultural training, and local delivery. As a result, they are better prepared to manage climate shocks, and they have larger harvests and earn more income. We continue to design our program with and for women farmers!
🚜 In Senegal, women comprise 70% of the agricultural workforce and are responsible for producing 80% of the agricultural yield myAgro has an Audacious Goal of supporting 1 million people out of poverty by 2026 - the way they will achieve this is by taking into account the role that rural women play 🗂️ so how will they achieve this goal? - Invest in women's agricultural livelihoods - Secure men’s buy-in - Break down normative barriers Learn more from myAgro's TED talk below 🔗 #audaciousproject #audaciousgoals #changemakers

To celebrate #GivingTuesday, we are excited to share an opportunity for you to DOUBLE your support for women smallholder farmers today! A generous donor is matching gifts dollar for dollar, allowing you to help more farmers achieve food security for themselves and their families. Through our mobile layaway platform, myAgro helps farmers in West Africa increase their harvests and income to achieve food security and to move out of poverty. Recognizing that women farmers face unique challenges such as limited access to land, we recently introduced a poultry package in Senegal. Poultry enables women farmers to increase food security and nutrition for themselves and their families since myAgro’s chicken breed is a high producer of both meat and eggs. It also diversifies their income as eggs and chickens can be sold year-round. Will you help us support even more farmers like Amy by taking advantage of this valuable matching gift opportunity? https://lnkd.in/g9EN_9VJ

We are thrilled to share our latest achievement. We have reached 193,000 farmers across Mali and Senegal through our mobile layaway platform, climate-smart agricultural training, and support packages. We've not just met but surpassed our goal of 175,000 farmers, almost doubling our reach from last season. 65% of these farmers are women, and our commitment to empowering women remains unwavering. We look forward to continuing our work with farmers, helping them to increase their income, nurture thriving farms, and strengthen their families and communities. #myAgro #womeninagriculture #smallholderfarmers

Meet Therese, a 32-year-old mother of 4 who has found a beautiful balance between farming and family. We're passionate about empowering women in agriculture, and Therese's journey exemplifies the positive impact we aim to create. Starting with our bissap package to increase her family's income, she trusted our model and then added our poultry package, providing her children with nutritious meals and enabling her to support their education. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of myAgro's tailored packages, allowing women like Therese to excel in agriculture while continuing to nurture their families. “Working with myAgro has helped me to pay for my children’s school fees and school materials such as bags for them. It makes me happy to satisfy the needs of my children.” Read more about Therese: https://lnkd.in/eWjzrATZ #EmpowerWomen #Agriculture #myAgro
