System Five, a 4energy group company, is happy to report that 204 Great Portland Street where we have been working in partnership with LJJ LTD, is nearing completion. This exciting project has been designed by award winning architects E8 Architecture on behalf of client Concord London Developments. This prestigious Design & Build development, known as "W1 Place", is located between London’s Marylebone and Fitzrovia neighbourhoods and comprises 37 high end residential units along with retail units. The System Five Projects Team have provided a Distech Controls BEMS to the central services including the main energy centre, which utilises a CHP and other plant to provide heat to the apartments via Heat Interface Units. A VRF system is employed in each residence which is controlled through the apartment’s audio-visual system. The BEMS will provide comprehensive energy monitoring with each apartment being monitored for energy consumption through third party HIU and VRF integration which then provides data that is exported to a bespoke billing system provided by the landlord. David Woodhams, a Director at 4energy group and his wife Natasha, have just a few days left to complete the Camino de Santiago, a 800km walk through France and Spain. Dave and Natasha have had no access to the internet; checking in once a day on a simple handset. An AirTag in Dave’s rucksack has allowed us to watch their progress and plot their route. Considered by many to be a spiritual retreat from modern life, the Camino Challenge has also provided an opportunity to shine a light on the children’s charity the NSPCC. The aims of the charity, which was established over 140 years ago, are to help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk, and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. An important strand of the NSPCCs work is supporting children’s mental and emotional health and wellbeing and to that end there were almost 200,000 Childline counselling sessions conducted with children last year. Why not join 4energy group, System Five, analytics4energy and a host of generous businesses and individuals in supporting the NSPCC and its vital work by making a donation here - https://lnkd.in/eQnf65YT

System Five, a 4energy group company is proud to have been selected to be the incumbent maintenance and service provider for Alice Holt Lodge (AHL) Entomology & Pathology Quarantine Lab under a three year contract. AHL is a research station operated by Forest Research, a research agency of the Forestry Commission and Great Britain’s principal organisation for forestry and tree-related research. Opened in May 2022, this state-of-the-art containment laboratory, allows scientists to identify pests and pathogens and represents a significant expansion of the UK’s capacity to combat tree pests and diseases and manage emerging threats, including climate change. The laboratory was created by refurbishing an outdated 1970s facility by a team that included Management & Construction Services Ltd, mechanical and electrical contractors LJJ LTD and architects, Architon LLP. Being an entomology lab, it is imperative that air transfer is limited. The facility therefore includes a complex pressure regulated airlock system, to help maintain a negative atmosphere in each of the labs and stop air transfer when the doors are opened. Engineers from System Five’s Service Team will visit Alice Holt Lodge at least twice during the year to ensure that their Honeywell Centraline HAWK 8000 controller and server platform are working at peak efficiency. #bems #energymanagement #energyefficiency #service #maintenance

Today is World Mental Health Day - an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members in more than 150 countries. This year’s theme set by the WFMH is “It is time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace”. Work can have a huge impact on our mental health. It can be good for our mental health, giving us a sense of purpose, boosting our self-worth, and providing opportunities to connect with others. But it can also be a source of stress and anxiety and contribute to developing or worsening mental health problems. Talking about our mental health can help us cope better with life’s ups and downs. So, on World Mental Health Day and beyond it, why not check in with your friends, family, peers, or colleagues? If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health, you are not alone, and there are many places you can go to get help - https://lnkd.in/eR5X9VN8 Mental Health Foundation There are specific organisations that provide mental health help for the construction industry including - www.lighthouseclub.org The Lighthouse Charity www.matesinmind.org Mates in Mind #WMHD2024 #WorldMentalHealthDay
