CIRCULARITY SORTED: We've partnered with Tarmac to bring an innovative #lowcarbon construction aggregate into the heart of #WestYorkshire.   The new manufactured product is made by putting incinerator 'top ash' through an accelerated #carbonation process to produce calcium carbonate – effectively #limestone – with binders added for strength.   From our new base at Cross Green in #Leeds, we're blending 0-40mm manufactured aggregate with newly quarried limestone from Tarmac to produce a high-performance Type1 sub-base material.   The new blend meets the SHW Series 800 specification for Type 1 sub-base Clause 803, with high strength, durability and compaction, and a lighter weight that delivers more ground coverage than conventional primary aggregate alone. To enquire about our new manufactured aggregate blend contact James Maiden on 07549 225424 or Adam Hancock on 07976 690371.   #CircularitySorted #CircularEconomy Leeds City Council #EnergyFromWaste West Yorkshire Combined Authority Our Shared Understanding: a circular economy in the built environment Aggregates Business Magazine #WeGoBeyond

SPRING STATEMENT: We welcome aspects of the Chancellor's #SpringStatement which underlines #mineralproducts’ strategic role in the economy, and presents opportunities for growth in #construction and #manufacturing. However, concerns remain over the downgraded growth forecast for 2025 and the potential implications for the sector. The Office for Budget Responsibility’s revised growth forecast of 1.0% for 2025 reflects challenging global economic conditions. As suppliers of essential materials for construction and infrastructure, the mineral products sector is sensitive to changes in economic growth and investment levels. While the Government’s reaffirmation of its ambitions for infrastructure and housing is welcome, effective delivery remains uncertain without a solid foundation of broader economic growth to support business confidence and investment. The revised forecast follows the Chancellor’s call on regulators to focus on growth in January; MPA wrote to the Chancellor afterwards to welcome her approach and encourage her to go further.
