CONCRETE LANDMARK🧑🏻💼🪨📆 🇬🇧: ConSpare Ltd, a leading UK supplier of concrete batching plant equipment and spare parts, recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of its CEO, James Bullock. It is a major milestone for the family business based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Initially joining the company as a sales administrator in 1984, James later took over from his father, Jim Bullock, as managing director in 1995. Having held the position for 28 years, James led the company to a record-breaking £10 million turnover in his final year as MD before transitioning to CEO in 2023. As a longstanding contributor to and expert within the industry, James has been an active member of the Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) executive committee since 2015 and has been president of the Association for the last two years. In celebration of the significant anniversary, James reflects on four decades of hard work, the changes he’s observed within the business and the concrete industry, and the trends that will impact the future of concrete batching plants around the UK. James said: “Celebrating 40 years at ConSpare is quite a surreal moment for me, I can’t quite believe I’ve been working here for over four decades. That’s a long time, and I‘ve witnessed a lot of change over the years, but I still love what I do and am as enthusiastic as when I first joined the business.” For the full story, click here: https://lnkd.in/eiivvUXk Matt Proctor Alex Biddulph David Moore Toni Palmer wayne Dunbar Charlotte Wycherley Rosalind Murray Luke Wale BRITISH AGGREGATES ASSOCIATION

MINING A RICH SEAM 🪨👷🇸🇪: Healthy mining industry business was key to Epiroc increasing its revenues and orders in Q3 2024. The Sweden-headquartered global market manufacturer of drill rigs and hydraulic breakers for the quarrying, mining and construction industries posted an 8% rise in orders to SEK 15,520mn (SEK 14,360mn in Q3 2023). The demand from mining customers was particularly strong, with several large mining equipment orders won. Large orders were a record quarter high at SEK 1,400mn (SEK 1,000mn), contributing to an organic order growth for equipment of 11%. For construction, as anticipated, demand remained weak, especially for attachments, where orders slowed further in the United States. In the near term, Epiroc expects that the underlying mining demand, both for equipment and the aftermarket, will remain high, while demand from construction customers is expected to remain weak. Epiroc third-quarter revenues increased 5% to SEK 15.7 billion, driven by organic growth in Equipment & Service and by acquisitions in Tools & Attachments. The company's EBIT increased slightly to SEK 3,277mn (SEK 3,260mn) and included items affecting comparability of SEK 191mn (-12). Helena Hedblom, Epiroc CEO and president, said: "I applaud the efforts of our passionate employees to provide our customers with solutions that make their operations safer, more productive, and more energy efficient while strengthening Epiroc for the future."
