We hosted guests from the Mineral Products Association along with civil servants from HM Treasury and the Department for Business and Trade at our Cauldon cement plant in Staffordshire. It was a pleasure to take them around the site, showcasing our latest investment and the exciting progress we’ve made. We also talked them through how we are seeking to decarbonise cement manufacturing with the introduction of carbon capture alongside the Peak Cluster partnership 🤝 #Cement #CCUS #Decarbonisation #PeakCluster #NetZero

We’re striving to lower our emissions to zero before 2050. So to mark International Reducing CO₂ Emissions Day, we're re-emphasising this commitment to decarbonisation. We launched our net-zero strategy in 2023 to drive down emissions through: 🌍 alternative materials 🌍 renewable energy 🌍 low-carbon fuels 🌍 carbon capture and storage 🌍 energy efficiency and demand management. Initiatives including our all-electric loading shovel, the introduction of more renewable energy sources and developing carbon capture at our Cauldon Cement Plant as part of Peak Cluster have propelled us forward, but we know there is still a long way to go. You can find out more about how we are doing in our annual sustainability report here https://bit.ly/3WCoMtn #InternationalReducingCO2EmissionsDay #NetZero #CircularEconomy

When John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray asked for help, we came to the rescue by repairing and resurfacing part of the school's bus park. Our Midlands contracting team, which is the surfacing contractor at the nearby Melton Mowbray distributor road scheme, carried out the work and supplied the materials at a discounted rate. The final results led to a very happy school and even happier bus drivers! 🚌 Swipe to see the before 👉 #Asphalt #Contracting #SocialValue #MeltonMowbray #Leicestershire

We welcomed Amanda Hack, MP for North West Leicestershire, to our Bardon Hill Quarry. As well as talking Amanda through the site's operations and how it can support the country's housing and infrastructure needs, we also showed her its rail capabilities. Last year, Bardon Hill transported more than 500,000 tonnes of materials via rail, with the average train carrying 1,400 tonnes – the equivalent to 70 lorries. The quarry supply developments across the country using the Ivanhoe Line. #Quarry #Leicestershire #RailFreight #IvanhoeLine #SustainableConstruction

We're shining a light on the amazing partnership our Trilogy RCC team has developed with St Andrew's Hospice in Lanarkshire 🤝 The hospice provides specialist palliative care for individuals living with life-limiting illnesses, and since 2020 our logistics and operations team has donated more than 80 bags of clothing and helped with many large-scale events. Last year, sales manager Duncan McCool quick-stepped out of his comfort zone to participate in a glittering two-night Strictly Come Dancing-style charity event, raising an incredible £4,700! This is an inspiring example of how the construction industry can create meaningful social impact by giving back to local communities – well done to all involved! #Volunteers #StAndrewsHospice #AggregateIndustries #TrilogyRCC

WALK THIS WAY | Our dedicated team recently took part in a large-scale volunteer project with the Canal & River Trust at Codnor Park Reservoir 🦆 Following a total of 98 hours on site, they improved pathways, ensured adequate and safe access for everyone and also donated and moved 14 tonnes of stone chippings to ease drainage issues. Well done to all involved – it was a huge feat and now locals can enjoy the stunning views and tranquil surroundings much more easily 🙌 #CanalAndRiverTrust #Volunteers #AggregateIndustries #Derbyshire

SHIP SHIP HOORAY ⛴ Our Glendsanda super quarry in western Scotland has recorded a significant milestone - the 200 millionth tonne of granite was shipped from the site on the MV Yeoman Bank to Great Yarmouth! It's been a long time since the very first shipment sailed from site back in August 1986 on the Hellesport Monarch headed for Houston, Texas. Since then, 6,798 ships have left the berthing point from Europe's largest hard rock quarry. Congrats to all the team at Glensanda for such an achievement 🙌 #Glensanda #Granite #AggregateIndustries #Quarry
