About us

Working in partnership with Black Thrive Global and Mind in Haringey to tackle inequality in the borough through mental health, employment, and training 🖤 Black Thrive Haringey is an amazing new partnership between Black Thrive Global, Black Thrive Lambeth and Mind in Haringey.

Since 2016, Black Thrive Lambeth has been working with statutory and community partners to tackle these structural inequalities, which negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people. This includes developing and delivering community led research to better inform policy as well as investing in future generations by supporting Black people in leadership roles. In 2021 Black Thrive Global was established to work beyond Lambeth and received a £5million grant over ten years from the National Lottery Community Fund to expand into Haringey and Birmingham.

At this point, the Partnership between Mind in Haringey was established, and Black Thrive Haringey was born! The borough of Haringey has always been a hub for Black people from all over the globe. We have seen the first Black Parliamentary Leaders arise from our midst and have also seen the revolutionary spirit of the local community, come together in the name of justice and equality for the Black community. Our guiding principle is to place Black communities at the centre of everything we do

. Our priorities
at Black Thrive Haringey are to embed race equity in systems change by
decolonising the evidence landscape. Our long-term ambition is to co-create a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled and Black communities will be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining and realising futures where they have fulfilling lives. Black Thrive Haringey is excited to be a key player in guiding and navigating systemic change for the Black communities in Haringey and supporting them to ensure that Black people thriving in Haringey becomes the norm.
