We’re proud to be featured in an article by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, where our Sustainability Lead, Aditi Saxena, shares insights on how businesses can embed environmental responsibility into every aspect of their operations. At Bond Bryan, sustainability is not just a commitment – it’s a core principle guiding everything we do. From reducing our carbon footprint to designing for a more sustainable future, we’re taking action to drive meaningful change. “We have set ourselves an ambitious target to be a net zero carbon practice by 2030. However, we realise that carbon is only one part of environmental sustainability, so now we are pushing ourselves further to not only minimise negative impact, but to enhance the environment around us.” - Aditi Saxena. This feature highlights how businesses can take meaningful action, and we’re delighted to be part of the conversation. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/ezVWcqMM #SustainableDesign #NetZero

A key element for the refurbishment of the Grade II Listed Central Building includes the complex replacement of the existing PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) roof. Check out our drone footage showing the lowering and removal of the original roof 📹 During the replacement, the structure has been supported with temporary rigging and birdcage scaffolding. Repairs and strengthening works to the frame and key components have been carried out. The new roof will include laminated glass and a new large central roof light, allowing plenty of natural light into the building. A focus on wellness this week with Fairhursts staff attending a few great events organised by Women in Property North West! We’re fortunate to live in a time when the world is finally catching on to the importance of wellness in the workplace. Modern research is working hard to demonstrate the lasting effects of healthy habits on our brains and bodies, with even the smallest changes helping to combat the detrimental consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. As employers, and especially as designers and creators of workspaces, it’s crucial that we listen. Though it’s easy to get caught up looking at the long list of side effects of a desk-bound high-stress lifestyle, it’s best that we focus on what can be done to help. Studies reveal that employees engaging in mobility-focused interventions at work are 27% less likely to experience burnout and 47% more likely to feel engaged. Integrating activities which combine physical and mental health benefits into your work life can also reduce risks of cognitive decline, dementia, and brain shrinkage. Beyond individual health, workplace wellness impacts the economy. According to McKinsey Health Institute, improving employee wellbeing could add £130–370 billion annually to the UK economy—equivalent to £4,000–£12,000 per employee and up to 17% of GDP. Prioritising wellness isn’t just good for people; it’s good for business. As part of the Bond Bryan family, we’re proud to foster a culture where taking care of your personal health and wellbeing is an integral part of the job. #wellness #morethandesign

Today, we bid a warm farewell to our work experience student, Sofia Shaheen, who has spent the past few weeks under the guidance of Adam Rich and a little from myself. From façade exercises and presenting university work to CV and portfolio workshops, attending meetings, and gaining insight into the workings of a professional practice, we believe it’s essential to provide students with a comprehensive and transparent view of the industry. Sofia has truly impressed us with her enthusiasm and her eagerness to take on every challenge with dedication. We hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us at Bond Bryan, Sofia. Please do stay in touch—we wish you every success in the future!

Fairhursts’ interiors team recently completed the retrofit of a dated office floor for Safer Sphere’s new Headquarters in Lea Green. To remain sustainable and cost effective while creating an exciting new environment, this refurbishment focussed on elevating existing features of the site to suit modern working needs and used thoughtful interior design choices to create a warm inviting new space centred on wellness and collaboration. Providing the company with ‘room to grow’ and creating a welcoming environment to encourage a sense of community in the office was central to the project’s mission. The design team was able to restructure the floorplan to create multiple new meeting rooms, flexible working areas, and social breakout zones, giving new life to the space and maximising value and utility for the occupants. We’re proud to have created this vibrant new space for our colleagues and friends at Safer Sphere, and we are glad to see the love it’s receiving in the first few weeks of use!
