We were pleased to join events during #EnglishTourismWeek25 focusing on the importance of the visitor economy. 🤝Joined a roundtable with Tourism Minister Sir Chris Bryant MP, who explained the Government’s aim of attracting 50 million international tourists per year by 2030. It was an opportunity to talk about Bristol Airport’s future aspirations connecting to North America and the Middle East, which would help bring even more visitors to the region. 🗣Attended the Visit West Regional Visitor Economy Conference, featuring an excellent range of talks highlighting the work that goes into attracting tourists to the area – there’s been a 20% increase since the pandemic – with many using Bristol Airport to visit the west. Bristol Airport is proud to support inbound tourism by providing connections to 120 places 🛬. With so many exciting events planned for the region this year, we’re looking forward to seeing more international visitors pass through our terminal to enjoy everything the South West and South Wales has to offer. 🏃♂️ Celebrating Bristol Airport’s ‘Run the Runway’ On Friday night, 296 incredible colleagues, business partners and friends took part in Bristol Airport’s ‘Run the Runway’, a unique opportunity to walk or run the length of our runway! Participants of all abilities completed either 2km or 5km to raise over £8,000 for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. Congratulations to the amazing volunteers and our Airside Operations team who worked hard to make the event fun and safe for everyone. Organising this extraordinary event takes significant planning and teamwork prior to and during the event. Special mention to Christine H. Rob O'Dare Joe Audcent Richard Morrison A special thank you to the generous support of Lagan Specialist Contracting Group and Centreline for their kind donations, and to the incredible fundraising efforts of all participants. 🏗️ New Video🏗️ Griffiths Farrans JV is making excellent progress on its transformational public transport project at Bristol Airport. Since topping out in November, the team has completed the Passenger Transport Interchange steel work on level 4 and has just 3 more pours remaining to complete the structural slab on level 4, followed by stair cores and parapets. The pre-cast link bridge installation commenced last week to connect directly to the existing car park. The 48 metre-long bridge link to the terminal will be visible next month with construction to take place on the ground before it is lifted into place in two sections. #airport #aviation #construction #civilengineering Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd

HIA was delighted to host a briefing with parliamentarians and officials from the Department for Transport and HM Treasury to discuss our ongoing work to deliver hydrogen-powered flights in the UK. Thank you to Sadik Al-Hassan MP for sponsoring the event and to all the parliamentarians who attended and pledged to support hydrogen-powered aviation. They recognise this is a strategic opportunity for the UK because: 👑 The UK aerospace sector is a crown jewel for innovation, jobs and trade 🛫 The UK is home to some of the most innovative companies advancing hydrogen-powered aviation 📈 The UK can combine its strengths in aviation and hydrogen, to become a world leader in hydrogen flight and drive growth across the UK We were also pleased to share with parliamentarians that we will be launching a UK Hydrogen Pioneer Airports Network. This network of five airports will serve as a testing ground for hydrogen aviation and will help develop the right processes, standards and regulations to support the first commercial hydrogen-powered flights. HIA is made up of leading companies across the aviation and renewable energy ecosystem, including Airbus, Bristol Airport, easyJet, GKN Aerospace, Ørsted, Rolls-Royce and ZeroAvia.
