🤝 We’ve had a brilliant couple of renal unit visits during #OrganDonationWeek with our partners Bristol Water and Wessex Water at Cossham Renal Unit and Bournemouth Water at Poole Dialysis unit. We attended with our Patient Services Support Team to talk through the support available to patients from Kidney Care UK including financial grants. James, benefited from our support when his fridge broke, terming it a real lifeline. Tim, on the other hand, was able to successfully apply for the benefits he was entitled to with our application support and guidance. 💡We also discussed the Priority Services Register (PSR) and affordability schemes for water bills. As part of #NationalCustomerServiceWeek Sue Clarke, Head of Customer Research has been out and about with our operational teams, seeing how they interact with customers, and hearing first hand what our customers think of the services we provide. Yesterday Sue was with our lead replacement team and said: “All the customers that we saw were happy with the service. It was great to hear that they had been kept informed about each stage of the work and delighted not to have lead pipes to their homes anymore. It was also interesting to hear, thanks to our teams, that they understood that the blue spray paint markings on the road would fade.”

For #WorldAnimalDay we decided to join the #AutumnLitterBlitz We picked up some litter picking kits from Bristol Waste Company and got to work tidying up the green spaces around our office in Bedminster, and making the area safer for wildlife and nicer for our neighbours. We filled our bags with plenty of plastic and wrappers, but our haul also included lots of disposable vapes, a bit of a number plate, part of an electric scooter and a pregnancy test! https://lnkd.in/eBEB3DdG

It's great to see the Dementia Safeguarding Scheme getting new recognition 💛 Along with Wessex Water we've helped fund yellow wrist bands to support those with dementia. To celebrate #NationalInclusionWeek our REACH Group (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) hosted a Cultural celebration day. This was an opportunity for colleagues to come together to honour, celebrate and learn about the many different cultures of our team members. A great event for everyone to come together, share some traditional foods, have a conversation and learn more about each other.

Who doesn't love some cake? 🍰 The MacMillan Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning was a great success this week in the office 💚💚 We raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support with cakes, hot drinks ☕, and some savoury snacks too 🧀 🥪

On Friday 18 October a group from Bristol Water will be attempting to walk a marathon distance of 26.2 miles around the perimeter footpath of our Axbridge Reservoir to raise money for our colleague and dear friend Dai. Dai had a routine knee operation in January 2024 and whilst in recovery started feeling unwell, Dai underwent some further tests which devastatingly resulted in him being diagnosed with a High Grade Glioma.
