We invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive.

About us

We’re a housing association – one of the biggest in the country, with almost 45,000 homes across central and south west England. While we believe in providing warm, safe and secure homes, ultimately we’re a people business. Not only do we care about the 100,000 people who live in our homes, we want them to thrive. We believe that having a great place to call home is just the start and with the right relationships and someone who believes in your potential, almost anything is possible. Our customers are the people that live in our homes for rent and shared ownership. Our customers are also those who rent our garages and our commercial buildings and those buying one of our homes for outright sale. That’s why we will continue to make a difference by investing in relationships and in connecting people, so our customers get to where they want to be. Because when they succeed, we succeed and that success drives us to do even more. That's why our purpose is simple and honest: We invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive.

Today, Bromford and Flagship have successfully merged to create Bromford Flagship — a stronger organisation with the capacity to deliver more affordable homes. With over 80,000 homes across east, central, and southwest England, this merger marks a key milestone in our strategic aim to unlock additional capacity and deliver more affordable homes. This could allow us to build 2,000 homes each year for the next 30 years, with an ambition for 50% to be at social rent. Alongside this, we’ll introduce new and innovative investment through the creation of a Place Standard—focusing on transforming streets into thriving communities and places where people want to live. We’ll also drive innovation through a dedicated Research & Development team and launch a Learning Academy. This is a huge step forward to enable more people to thrive. Bromford Flagship has secured £22 million from the government’s Social Housing Fund to make homes warmer, greener, and more affordable to run. The funding will be used to install energy-saving upgrades, including air source heat pumps, solar panels, insulation, and double glazing - helping our customers cut energy bills and live more comfortably. David Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer, said:  “This funding will help us future-proof thousands of homes. Investing in energy efficiency not only lowers bills but also reduces our carbon footprint. This is a major milestone in our journey towards net zero and a huge win for our customers.” Previous phases of the scheme, which Bromford and Flagship have been part of since 2022, have already helped hundreds of households. Homes have received upgrades including air source heat pumps and external wall insulation, reducing energy consumption. More - https://lnkd.in/ee7tm--8 #UKHousing #SocialHousing #WarmHomesPlan

S&P has reaffirmed Bromford Flagship’s A+ rating, while Moody’s has assigned an A2 rating with a stable outlook—both maintaining the strong credit positions previously held by Bromford and Flagship. S&P highlighted resilient credit metrics, controlled costs, and potential synergies, recognising the financial strength created through the merger. Moody’s also noted Bromford Flagship’s scale, market position, and ability to absorb shocks, reinforcing the long-term benefits of the combined organisation. Matthew Rose, Director of Treasury, said: “The ratings will give us the confidence to return to the markets later in the year to seek additional funding from investors who are interested in supporting our journey to build 2,000 homes every year for the next 30 years and enabling even more customers to thrive in a Bromford Flagship home.” This follows the recent milestone of securing a £100m Revolving Credit Facility with Royal Bank of Canada—the first funding since the merger. Bromford Flagship has finalised a new £100 million Revolving Credit Facility (RCF) with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). The facility expands the liquidity position of our 80,000-home housing association, giving a total RCF portfolio of £850 million, the majority of which is undrawn. This funding will help finance our ambitions to increase the development of new homes in the future, including a significant proportion for social rent, building upon our combined legacy in 2023-2034 as one the country’s largest builders of social rent homes. Every community is different, which is why it’s so important to listen and respond to local needs. In Perton, colleagues recently worked alongside the community after listening to concerns about waste, litter, and untidy spaces. By bringing together customers, local police, and partners, everyone played a part in improving the area, creating a cleaner, safer environment and a greater sense of pride.
