  • Did you know that buyers of new build properties in the UK reduced carbon emissions by an incredible 500,000 tonnes last year? Our Ground Source Heat Networks are at least 80% less carbon intensive than natural gas systems. By harnessing ambient heat from the ground, these systems efficiently and affordably provide both cooling and hot water. With bespoke solutions and fixed tariffs for residents, we can design and build a ground source heat network suitable for your developments, working to reduce carbon emissions even further and create energy efficient homes. • Was great to play our part in helping to deliver one of Scotland’s most sustainable developments! We worked closely with CRUDEN HOMES (EAST) LIMITED to design and build a decentralised heat network to serve 48 residential properties, providing a funded solution which resulted in a 60% capital cost saving for Cruden Homes. For more information on how our ground source heat networks can help provide sustainable heating solutions for your developments contact the team at hello@energetics-uk.com or call us on 03300 587400

In safe hands - as its now National Energy Saving Week, we thought we'd share how we helped Cruden Homes get a clean heat network up and running at one of Scotland's most sustainable developments Showcasing the successful implementation of a ground source heat network at Barnton – a 48-plot housing development near Edinburgh. The upfront capital cost of installing clean heat is a key consideration for developers. We constructed a funded model, taking on 60% of the capital expenditure and ensuring the project was commercially and technically viable. Key outcomes: 💰 60% capital cost savings for the developer 🌎 Approximately 80% reduction in carbon emissions against a similar gas system 💸 Competitive, fixed-rate tariff for consumers 📉 Low running and maintenance costs We help developers find cost-effective, sustainable solutions for their developments. To find out how we can help you contact Energetics for projects in the North of England, North Wales and Scotland and UKPS for projects in the South and South Wales. #MultiUtilities #NetZero #HeatNetworks

  • ❓ What are ground source heat networks? It might not feel like it at times, but the earth is a giant battery of heat. Heat networks extract this heat (thermal energy) from the earth through a series of boreholes and use it to provide heating and hot water. The heat networks are formed by fluid in plastic pipes which carry ambient heat from the ground around the network, into either individual heat pumps or centralised heat pumps. Once the energy from the ground has been relinquished to the heat pump, the fluid continues its circuit back to the borehole, to begin the cycle again. Ground temperature is consistent throughout the year (compared to air), so high efficiency is maintained in winter, during the height of the heating season when you need it the most. Therefore, it is the most energy-efficient heating technology from a renewable source. Networked heat pump systems mimic gas infrastructure, are infinitely scalable, and can be tailored to meet the layout and heat demand of each site. As multi-utility experts, we have over 15 years of experience designing and installing electric, gas and water infrastructure, which places us in a great position to install heat networks as part of our offering. • Putting faces to names... It's time to meet the team and see how our experienced colleagues help to deliver your developments to the best standards. Meet Jon Hall. Jon's a Business Development Manager operating in Yorkshire and the North Midlands. A proud Yorkshireman, he's been at Energetics for more than 10 years. Nine and a half year’s experience as an Energetics Multi-Utilities Project Manager means Jon played a fundamental part in the delivery of hundreds of housing, and industrial and commercial schemes. He switched roles last year and has become an integral part of our business development team. Jon's technical knowledge, alongside his understanding of internal and industry processes, means he can help find the right utility solution for your developments and support you through the process. When asked about his most memorable project Jon said; “I’ve completed utilities at Hadrian’s Tower (the tallest building in Newcastle), Denham Media Park (where Star Wars, Superman and Alien were filmed), worked on helping to deliver sites across the country, but my favourite was the Aqueduct Road development in Shirley, West Midlands. I had my first High Voltage point of connection (POC), Water POC and gas connection there. I’ve had umpteen connections since, but the first still is my favourite.” For support and information on how we can help with your developments, contact Jon and the team at hello@energetics-uk.com or give us a call on 03300 587400.
