Our Community Heat Hub continues to make headlines this week as we announced that first homeowners have been connected at Vistry Group’s The Gateway in Bexhill. This scheme is a showcase on how we collaborate with our housebuilder partners to help decarbonise the delivery of heat into new builds. The Community Heat Hub at The Gateway is estimated to save around 850 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually in comparison to individual gas boilers in homes. Brendan Evans, Managing Director at Vistry Kent said: “Vistry is committed to delivering sustainable long-term communities that provide the mix of high-quality new homes that residents need. Collaborating with like-minded organisations like GTC is essential to help us deliver innovative solutions that meet important decarbonisation standards while helping to fulfil the UK’s chronic need for new housing.” You can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ehXJ2uyX

At last week’s Futurebuild our very own Katy Taylor, Business Development Director at GTC, took part in the ‘Heating that’s better for everyone’ panel discussion. FutureBuild is an annual event which highlights the latest thinking in sustainable solutions and encourages positive change in the construction industry to create more sustainable practices. The discussion focused on the necessity of forming essential collaborative partnerships between developers, housing providers, and technology companies to ensure sustainable heating solutions are scaled effectively; helping the UK achieves its Net Zero targets. Katy said “I joined Natalie Down from Clarion Housing Group and David Broom from Kensa on the panel to showcase our commitment to Net Zero. We had a thought-provoking discussions on how we are scaling sustainable heating in the new build & social housing sector, the key challenges facing the industry and best practices to deliver low carbon heating solutions, such as our networked ground source heat pumps solution.” With up to five times the efficiency of gas and 30% more efficient than individual air source heat pumps, these ground source heat pumps require the same electricity capacity as gas fired homes. This makes it the ideal solution both for new developments and those that are in-build but will need to switch from being gas heated to being heated using electricity. BUUK Infrastructure, GTC and Power On are delighted to confirm their participation during a panel discussion at the UK's Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), on Tuesday 20th May at 09:30. The panel will discuss the topic of transitioning to low carbon solutions for new build developments as electrification of heating replacements for gas will significantly increase grid demand, potentially delaying future developments. In this BUUK moderated session, we will explore innovative solutions available and already installed today, that unlock capacity constrained sites while ensuring full compliance with Future Home Standards. #LowCarbonHeat #GroundSourceHeatPumps #CommunityHeatHub #FutureHomesStandard #NetZero #NewBuild
