About us
Our well-loved and well-used buildings and places are created from listening and understanding client and stakeholder needs. Various forms of collaboration and co-production are at the heart of our practice. We enjoy the messiness and richness of these processes. They make each project unique. Our key strength is our dual experience as both public realm designers and architects. Erect’s buildings and spaces have won high-profile awards and our public realm spaces have featured as good practice case studies by CABE and in the Supplementary Planning Guidance: Shaping Neighbourhoods. We challenge standards through innovation and research and explore this in evidence-based work. We have been engaged in pilot projects such as Camden Active Spaces and Lambeth Early Action Partnership, which probe the potential role of design in improving public health and wellbeing.

Work at Erith Riverside Gardens is in full swing and we are really excited to see the improvements to the gardens come into fruition. The re-landscaping of the gardens aims to bring residents and visitors closer to the River Thames whilst enjoying the green open space on Erith High Street. New seating, a playground and outdoor fitness zone, as well as a community gardening area will be located along a 'Thames promenade route' running the length of the gardens, connecting people to the river's edge whilst socialising, getting active or resting within the gardens. Such wonderful feedback, thanks for sharing btp consultants 🙌
The Power of Great Lighting! We’re so pleased to share this wonderful feedback from Tandridge District Council about the lighting design for Quadrant House in Caterham, Surrey: “Just a quick note to say thank you for a great job on the lighting design. I was at Quadrant House yesterday. The lighting is superb. So much brighter and lighter. The first-floor corridor was like a cave before. The transformation is fantastic. The lobbies are also much improved.” We were selected to lead the sustainable retrofit of Quadrant House, a mixed-use building from the mid-60s in Caterham. Working closely with Erect Architecture and the main contractor Thomas Sinden Limited, this lighting upgrade was just one aspect of a much larger decarbonisation project that we consulted on for the entire building. We made sure the lighting and services not only brightened the space but also future-proofed the building to meet modern standards and appeal to current and future building tenants. Erect Architecture reposted this
We are excited that one of our recent projects “Quadrant House” has been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal Retrofit & Reuse Awards, under the Adaptive Reuse, Future Reuse and Decarbonisation category. Erect Architecture led the project and we worked closely with them and the main contractor Thomas Sinden Limited to implement best practice retrofit measures. The project transformed the 1960s structure into a modern, decarbonised building, revitalising the high street and making the local community and Tandridge District Council proud. We’ll share more about this project shortly. With thanks to Charles Hosea and Thomas Sinden Limited for the fantastic photos. ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ #BTPEngineering Bringing buildings to life with expertly designed mechanical, electrical and renewable energy systems
