On Friday 11th October, our co-chair Hannah represented the GMYCA at the Good Employment week event, where she spoke about what good Employment is like from a young person's perspective from our discussions in the October meeting. In her speech, she raised the importance of having a safe and inclusive space at work, flexible working hours, and a fair recruitment process. "For me, this was such an eye-opening experience. As someone without a lot of experience in Employment, I'm honoured to have the opportunity to listen and understand other young people's experiences and challenges with job hunting and working. One priority we mentioned was fostering a safe and inclusive workplace, including ensuring that their recruitment process and policies are inclusive to everyone no matter their age or backgrounds, which is why it is so important to have events like this where different panels work together to create a better, friendlier work environment in Greater Manchester."
