Being tasked with the challenge of using The Wallace Collection in a way it has never been used before was a fun brief. In line with the Flora Yuknovich takeover we used her work as inspiration to inject colour and playfulness into the spaces to include a circular champagne tasting bar and a dessert stall inspired by production lines as Flora's studio was formerly an old biscuit factory. The Marie Antoinette room is now exclusively available to hire for intimate dinners, get in touch if you would like to be one of the first to host your guests there. 13 years ago I was delivering events in the National Gallery regularly whilst working client side for a professional services firm, so it was such a pleasure to return there a few weeks ago as GOLBORNE delivering two events for a new client. The vision for this event was inspired by Van Gogh's poet's garden - the lush greenery, warm colours and natural materials. Such an incredible exhibition and venue to work with. An inspiring talk at the Victoria and Albert Museum, set amongst a sea of statues in the Medieval Renaissance Gallery. This was such a unique set up in a space never used this way before. We love playing with formats to create unforgettable moments for our guests. Inspired by the 'Cafe Core' trend with bespoke vinyl terrazzo topped tables, organic flowers and a trickling water fountain. An intimate chef's table dining experience at the V&A, South Kensington for for an ever inspiring brand doing great things within the tech industry. Our 'Eclectic Grandpa' inspired tablescape featured pattern on pattern, texture and quirky ceramics. The end result was the right balance of chintz and chic! Perhaps best to never admit how many hours we spend perfecting the detail - choosing chairs, looking at linen samples, discussing water glasses, talking about poseur tables.... We love it though, and with lots of tweaking, revisiting, mood boards, planning meetings and many, many samples we get to the perfect solution. A bar in The Drawing Room at The Wallace Museum was a first - so it couldn't be just any bar, now, could it? An intentional colour clash and overflowing blooms with a tropical twist set the stage for an evening of mixology and merriment.
