    Pounds Park in #Sheffield has been shortlisted for a Pineapple Award! 🍍 What began life as a large tarmac car park in the centre of Sheffield city centre has been transformed into a bustling, joyful place for children of all ages and their parents and carers to enjoy. The family friendly atmosphere has been created by key Landscape Architecture features including - water play, a sand pit, musicals chime blocks, a large wooden climbing frame, 39 new trees, over 70 species of plants, rain gardens and new bird and bat boxes. Pounds Park now successfully draws in the local community as well as thousands of visitors to the city centre all year round.   • Rotherham Markets 📍📷 Take a look at the latest work on our significant redevelopment project for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, which will see the town benefit from a more inviting, inclusive and accessible market area tied into a brand-new modern central library. Rotherham-based subcontractor Demex Ltd have been tasked with the dismantling of the iconic tensile fabric tent structure, as well as the demolition of the Guardian Building to the corner of the site. Completion of this carefully managed process is a key milestone, marking the first visual change at the historic site and showcasing the progress we are making in transforming this area of the town.   • Construction work has completed on the brand-new sports hall at Minsthorpe Community College in South Elmsall and is now open to students at the start of their new term 🏀 The new facility includes a 6,394 sq ft main sports hall, two activity studios, changing rooms, toilets, storage facilities and office space. Work began in summer 2023 to replace the previous sports facilities alongside refurbishment works to several of the existing blocks within the college. The remaining works, including the installation of a multi-use games area (MUGA), will be completed in spring 2025. 💬 Mark Gilmore and Rachael Merritt, Joint Principals at Minsthorpe Community College said: "The new sports complex and the refurbishment works to several of the existing blocks is the final piece in the jigsaw in bringing the College’s facilities into the 21st century meaning the experiences of both our amazing students and fantastic community will be enriched for years to come."     🌼 Creating a vibrant, family-friendly city centre, Sheffield's 'Pocket Park' reflects Gavin Jones’ passion for creating inclusive, green spaces that benefit local communities and the environment. 🌳 Our contribution for client Henry Boot Construction: ▶️ Soft Landscaping: Precision and care went into shaping the park’s lush environment. ▶️ Topsoil Supply & Installation: 1,400 tonnes of nutrient-rich topsoil laid with precision. ▶️ Tree & Plant Installation: 39 striking trees and 27,400 shrubs and herbaceous plants to create a thriving green space. ▶️ Ground Covering: 1,200m² of gravel mulch and 700m² of fresh turf, creating natural textures and surfaces. Offering a dynamic and inviting space for Sheffield’s community. From the impressive 3x8m climbing boulder inspired by Peak District rockfaces to the playground’s 11m pyramid towers, playhouses, and wheelchair-accessible equipment — every inch of this park is designed to bring joy to visitors of all ages. 🌱 We’re thrilled to have been part of this inspiring transformation.
